About this listen
These heartwarming short stories were written by Barbara Nelson Blinn during her late high school years in the 1950s. They tell of a period of time that has been forgotten by many, yet fun to remember and learn about.
Through a series of short stories, the author explores meaningful themes like human nature, morality, sacrifice, religion, justice, and parental love. Most of the stories focus on a central figure who must overcome an obstacle to find a better life for themselves or their loved ones.
These were some of Barbara’s earliest writings. She went on to become an award-winning poet in her later years. Her daughter has published these works after her death so the legacy of these writings would not be lost.
