Sherlock Holmes lebt längst in den Sussex Downs im Ruhestand, als eine dubiose Filmproduktion ohne sein Wissen einen erotischen Stummfilm über ihn dreht, der in speziell dafür eingerichteten Pubs gezeigt wird. Seine lieben Arztkollegen haben nichts Besseres zu tun, als Watson das Lichtspiel vorzuführen. Watson ist entsetzt. Noch entsetzter ist er, als erfährt, dass sein Freund Opfer des Hauptdarstellers, eines Gelegenheits-Hochstaplers, geworden ist, der als angeblicher Sherlock Holmes Geld von einem potentiellen Kunden unterschlagen hat.
