About this listen

Could the sudden death of Sir Charles Baskerville have been caused by the gigantic ghostly hound which is said to have haunted his family for generations? Arch-rationalist Sherlock Holmes characteristically dismisses the theory as nonsense. Claiming to be immersed in another case, he sends Watson to Devon to protect the Baskerville heir and to observe the suspects at close hand.

A great narration of a classic story

As a story originally published in 1902 I was amazed to find how easy a read it was and really enjoyed it.

I have always loved the character of Sherlock Holmes though had yet to read any of the original work. I think I was afraid that I may find myself not like the works so I put it off. But alas I found the writing to be rather poetic and find myself wanting to read more Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

Definitely worth the read.

I enjoyed the delivery of the tale by Derek Jacobi. Mr. Jacobi’s narration proved him to be a skilled orator.
