About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

THE GRIPPING NEW PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER FROM THE NO.1 SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF EVERYONE HERE IS LYING AND THE COUPLE NEXT DOOR.

Bryden and Sam have it all: thriving careers, a smart apartment in a luxury condo, supportive friends and a cherished daughter. The perfect life for the perfect couple.

Then Sam receives a call at his office. Bryden – working from home that day - has failed to collect their daughter from daycare.

Arriving home with their little girl, he finds his wife’s car in the underground garage. Upstairs in their apartment her laptop is open on the table, her phone nearby, her keys in their usual place in the hall.

Except Bryden is nowhere to be seen. It’s as if she just walked out.

How can she have disappeared from her own home? And did she even leave the building at all?

With every minute that passes – and as questions swirl around their community – Bryden and Sam’s past seems a little less perfect, their luxury condo less safe, their friends, neighbours and relatives no longer quite so reliable . . .

'Stunning: fiendishly plotted with whiplash twist and turns - Shari Lapena is at the very top of her game here' LUCY FOLEY, Sunday Times bestselling author of The Guest List.

Another winner by one of my favourite authors, A universal sense of betrayal ,long held motives and lies.It reaks of the normally used lesson in morality

I was guessing till the end

I've loved all of this authors books and this is another great one that had me hooked from the start. My favourite part of her writing is how fast they move, it keeps you listening! Very intriguing but I guessed the ending, I think you start to after you read a few too many.

Another gripping book by Shari Lapena

I really love this author. This book was certainly worth the listen. I didn’t find the plot twist too wild but it was still an interesting and great story. Would recommend.

Fast paced and interesting

Positive: It has good momentum, The storyline is unqiue. Some good characters
Negative: It felt like 'How to be a detective 101'. The basics. It could be best for children (minus the language) or teenagers. Suspense was minimal and at a low level.

Learn to be a detective..101
