About this listen

A shamanic journey of self-discovery, healing and empowerment through your relationships with yourself, others, your community, the imaginal world and the Great Spirit.

Ya'Acov Darling Khan, best-selling author of Jaguar in the Body, Butterfly in the Heart, has travelled the world for over three decades to study with indigenous shamans. He has dedicated his life to cultivating a blend of shamanic practices that is both practical and poetic, both mystical and of the moment.

In this audiobook, he invites us to rediscover our inner shaman. Throughout all of human history, shamans have been healers, spiritual teachers and guardians of the delicate balance between the world we create and the transformative world of dreams. Shaman offers us an opportunity to reconnect with this spiritual path, and answers the question: What is shamanism's relevance to the challenges and opportunities we face in the 21st century?

The book was very well produced.

I found the information in the book to be very interesting. While I thought the author did very little to hide his biases, it took nothing away from the production.

Great book about Shamanism.

Couldn't get into it. the introduction sounded promising until I got the sense that he was using neo-Paganism as a way to peddle political idologies of the left. I don't know about anyone else but mentions of 'white privilege', 'people of colour' (white people or Europeans are literally the most colourful people of all with red, blonde or dark hair and features etc) and just other tenth-rate neo-Marxist buzz-terms and general drivel put me off right from the get-go. I'm not alone when it comes to expressing polite aversion and avoidance of anything smacking of self-righteous virtue signalling. As harsh as I can be about this I think I speak for many when I say to leave the politics out of polytheism. New age ideology is far from sacred and sadly I'm not surprised in today's political climate that we have brainwashed authors hijacking ancient wisdom and worldviews in order to push their agendas. If you want an authentic take on Shamanism I would suggest searching elsewhere. It's as simple as that.
