Always Enjoy Ruth Rendell
Found this an enjoyable experience. The narrator was excellent and story interesting. Recommended as an engaging diversion.

Confusing and slow
I am not familiar with Ruth Rendell's work and thought I'd try it out. I found the characters hard to follow (keeping track of who's who) and the story quite slow. I did stick with it and there was a good twist at the end but I will not seek out other books by this author or narrator.

Rendell is a smart, insightful novelist. Wexford is old, determined and tempted. A subtle psychological novel. Excellent narrator.

Excellent
I love the Inspector Wexford series. it's a shame Audible don't have the entire series...then I could listen through every book in order from the beginning.
I certainly did not see the twist at the end of this one.

Another classic RR
I can’t get enough of Nigel Anthony’s readings of Ruth Rendell. The combination of RR’s detailed stories and Nigel’s expertise in crafting character voices make the Wexford series pure joy. I already have the next title ready to go.

Excellent story- such a talented author.
I love that this book isn’t predictable but also isn’t terribly unpredictable in a try hard way.
