Wow

First off, I love how much growth Ash is showing, there's many situations in which I could've seen her just storm away and let things fester, but you can see her really trying to work things out no matter how much it might hurt her in the end. Which is why that ending just killed me. She went through so much, worked through that rollercoaster of emotions for that?? But at the end of the day, I know Deborah Wilde never disappoints, which is why I'll be patiently waiting for the next book. Who knows, maybe all Levi needs is a good punch in the face to get his head on straight, and who better for the job than Ash.

This story keeps getting better!

I enjoyed this story so much! I loved hearing what was next for Ash. I really enjoyed the development of Ash and Levi's relationship. There were plenty of twists to keep me on my toes. There were also several jaw dropping moments, and a few times where I was almost in tears fr laughing so much. There were also times where I actually cried. Ms. Wilde does an amazing job of writing relatable, imperfect characters that are so real they feel like someone you actually get to know. She sucks you in and gets you caught up in not just an adventure, but in the lives of all the characters. Even her supporting characters have motivation and growth. The world building and character growth is outstanding, and the mythology seems well developed, without being over explained. There were no moments where I felt like I was pulled out.of the story. Overall it was a wonderful adventure. There always seemed like a logical chain of events in the story, and I didn't get bored, feeling like the characters were just running around for no reason. I also truly enjoyed all of the sexy times in the book. The narrator did an AMAZING job. She gave every character a distinct voice and it was easy to keep track of who was speaking I'm a conversation. She also did a good job of differentiating between the MC' internal thoughts and spoken voice. You could tell when she was thinking versus speaking for the most part. I would absolutely recommend this if you like snarky, imperfect, kick butt heroes who try to be better people, cuss a little too much, are fiercely loyal, and enjoy great sex!

Just keeps getting better!

When I started this series I was skeptical, yet here I am going strong. Ash & Levi are strong and wonderful characters with a ton of conflicts between them. This book was stronger and flowed much smoother. The ending has me looking up the next book already. I'm definitely addicted.

warning: spoilers!

Soo first off I listened to this series to give Hollie Jackson another chance. because let's face it ending a book on a relationship issue is cheap. Especially, after the characters in said relationship just started fixing things. Needless to say but this is why I stopped listening to the unlikable demon hunter series. Now she's done it again, just in reverse.

One of My Fave Series

This is one of my fave series & fave lead female character - strong, sassy & severely flawed. Just trying to do the right thing. This author is fantastic at dropping nuggets of story with each book - enough to keep you captivated & left wanting more. The narrator is wonderful bringing the story to life

Loved It

I know I like Hollie Jackson as a narrator but I forget how much until I listen to another book she narrates. In this book you know exactly which character is speaking because she changes the tone or accent and you just know it is this character. There is no guessing about who is talking. Hollie Jackson brings this story to life and enhances the overall book. The book was awesome and Hollie Jackson made it even better.

I can't wait for the next book

I can't wait for the next book, yet it will be bittersweet because it will also conclude this amazing story. Based in a fantasy version of Vancouver where magic & mundane's are at odds. The story includes characters that are relatable and varied with depth; their individual backstories and character development makes it easy to dive into the story and feel it come to life. The plot is fast paced but the balance is struck where it doesn't feel rushed. I wish in equal measures to have the final installment and for the series to never end. A worthy read and a story that at the end of the 3rd book doesn't feel tired or overdone, more well rounded and progressing forward toward the conclusion of the story as a whole.

Fantastic read

Ash and Livi have a lot to contend with in this story , they both find out things' about their fathers which put a strain on their relationship. The race to find the missing scroll, fun and games with the Queen of Hearts. This is a brilliant story with lots of thrills, emotion and not forgetting sarcasm. The choice of narrator is perfect. I can't wait for the final book in this series.

Buckle up

and hang on tight. Deborah has once again knocked it out the park her third installation of Ash’s story. I was gripped from the first chapter and went through a miriad of emotions. Right now, I’m feeling longing. I need to listen to the next instalment. Let me not forget Holly Jackson. She could read the phone book and I’d be enraptured. I never thought I’d love another character as much as I did Nava....then Ash came along. Her wit, sass and all around badassery makes this story epic. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Keeps getting better

This series keeps getting better (and it’s so good I re-listened to the first two in the series before diving into this awaited treat!). Shadows and Surrender takes Ash deeper into the world of a Jezebel and the author continues to add depth to her protagonist, which is a really nice touch that is often missing from more recent UF. This edition also contains all the snark I’ve come to expect from Deborah Wilde, and Mrs Hudson is a nice comic addition. Deborah has created quite a challenge for the narrator, Hollie Jackson, when asking for a Carribean accent that to my ears sounds Irish :-). Very much looking forward to the last instalment and hoping that the audible edition doesnt lag to far behind kindle. If you’ve not read/listened to the Nava Katz series I’d also recommend it.

You won't regret listening to this book!

As always, Deborah Wilde delivers a fabulous series. This is number three in The Jezebel Files and does not disappoint, this series just keeps getting better and better. I am in awe of how the author weaves such an intriguing plot line and I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down. I especially liked the interplay between the main characters Ash and Levi. All the characters, including the secondary are well thought out and believable. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book and the series. As with the other novels this is read by Hollie Jackson, who effortlessly brings the story to life. If you have not listened to books one and two I would urge you to get them, be prepared to lose yourself in the world of magic and mundane.

This series is such a ride!

Ash dealt with so much in this book. Secrets came out, raising the stakes higher than ever before, and her past threatened her future. My heart broke for her time and again, while at the same time, I admired how she's grown as a character since the first book. She made real connections with people (and an animal or two), and felt more comfortable in her own skin, even as she dealt with one blow after the other. This series is fast paced, with not a dull moment, characters that jump out of the page (or the phone I'm listening on, boosted by Hollie Jackson's amazing narration), and a unique combination of fantasy, mythology, and religion driving the plot. I'm hooked and need the next book NOW.

Wow!!

This series just keeps getting better!! Although the story arc is more complicated and there is more emotional strain on the characters, the sarcasm and laugh out loud moments are still present and still enrich the story as well as all the players. I listened to all 3 books one after the other and I have to admit that the situation Ash has been left in has stayed with me. There is no cliffhanger but as the emotional threads come together you find yourself fully entwined with the characters. Apart from a brilliant author this has only been enhanced by Hollie Jackson’s narration which was perfect! Roll on book 4, can’t wait!!!!
