Publisher's Summary

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • For the infamous, power-hungry Sith, beholden to the dark side, the time has come to rise again.

“Full of lightsaber battles, the Jedi philosophy, and lots of new life-forms.”—Chicago Sun-Times

After years of waiting in the shadows, Darth Sidious is taking the first step in his master plan to bring the Republic to its knees. Key to his scheme are the Neimoidians of the Trade Federation. Then one of his Neimoidian contacts disappears, and Sidious does not need his Force-honed instincts to suspect betrayal. He orders his apprentice, Darth Maul, to hunt the traitor down.

But he is too late. The secret has already passed into the hands of information broker Lorn Pavan, which places him right at the top of Darth Maul’s hit list. Then, in the labyrinthine alleyways and sewers of Coruscant, capital city of the Republic, Lorn crosses paths with Darsha Assant, a Jedi Padawan on a mission to earn her Knighthood.

Now the future of the Republic depends on Darsha and Lorn. But how can an untried Jedi and an ordinary man, stranger to the powerful ways of the Force, hope to triumph over one of the deadliest killers in the galaxy?

Critic Reviews

“Reaves writes with a creative flair, allowing readers to experience an almost cinematic sensation as they move through the story. The language is colorful, the action scenes are dynamic, and the dialogue is realistic.... Shadow Hunter is a very good Star Wars novel that reads as easily as a comic book.... Reaves does an excellent job.”—Winston-Salem Journal

Shadow Hunter

An awesome insight to a criminally underused Sith. And Sam Witwer's narration was utterly captivating the whole way through :D

amazing story and narrator

one of the best starwars stories I've ever listened too, having Sam witwer who is the voice actor of darth maul in the clonewars series read the book was so captivating, the story itself is up there with drew karpyshyn's and Timothy zahn's

everyone who is into starwars needs to listening to this

Sam Witwer born to do Star Wars

Sam Witwer gives us an incredible narration of this star wars novel. Fantastic performance of what the characters are feel and thinking.

What most stood out is how he would use the voice of a character to also voice their inner thoughts or monologue. I have never heard a voice actor do that for an audiobook.

Sam Witwer truly shows us how he was born to do star wars.

He should definitely do more star wars audiobooks!

Quite possibly the best narration ever

Sam Witer’s clear and obvious passion for what he is narrating is simply awe inspiring. Ever since listening to this book I have found all other narration to be dull and dry, It’s truly like listening to a movie!! And I truly hope he gets to do more, I can’t recommend this enough.

10/10, best narration yet.

A Darth Maul story narrated by the voice of Maul, absolutely awsome, Witwer does a great job, wish he did more SW stories now. I Forgot I had read the book already but his storytelling made it better, does the crazy, angry Maul so well just like in TCW series. 10 out of 10 for me.

Fantastic Legends story

So good that it’s finally getting attention in the modern era. Gives an interesting take on some classic Star Wars concepts. Wither doesn’t just read the book either, he really acts.

Absolutely Epic!

First off, the story. This novel acts as a bit of a prequel to Episode 1, but it also launches one of my absolute Star Wars arcs. The characters are interesting and I actually felt something for them at the end. The setting of Coruscant's underbelly was also really to see.
The real highlight of this audiobook though was Sam Witwer's performance. Obviously he is the voice of Darth Maul in The Clone Wars and Rebels show, as well as Palpatine, and his performances of them in this audiobook are worth the credit or price alone. His other voices in this are great too, including Qui Gon Jin.
The Lorn Pavan/I5/Jax Pavan arc is my favourite of all the Start Wars EU novels. Hi highly recommend this one.

Just wow

If you have 10 1/2 hours and want to listen to an incredible performance then I highly recommend this story with some old and new characters but most definitely you can visualise the the scene and with Sam’s passionate performance, you get a truly unique Star Wars experience. 10/10 loved it

The best narrator I’ve ever heard

The book was fantastic but what really made it for me was the narrator he absolutely nailed the different voices and sets the seen of how the feel eg. Out of breath, enraged, filled with joy ect.

Couldn’t speak higher of him and the book itself
