Story
Cash was living the life of the lieutenant of The Last Riders, and he had women at his beck and call. The only thing he saw himself settling down with in the future was a 12 pack... and certainly not Rachel Porter. Hell, she wasn't even his type - her tits were too small, and her mean mouth could shrivel a man's dick. How was he supposed to know she was special and worth putting up with those weed-producing hillbillies? Or was she?

Two young boys with difficult lives at home banding together with a cool girl who didn’t mind mucking through the mud on their hikes. They grew up to be Duncan Holloway, activist, CEO, and face of the popular River Rain outdoor stores, Imogen Swan, award-winning actress and America’s sweetheart, and Corey Szabo, ruthless tech billionaire. Publisher's Summary
Want, need, pain, and joy were emotions Shade had never known existed before Lily. He knew the first time he saw her face that she was going to change his life forever. The thing he hadn't expected was how hard it would be to hide who and what he was from her. Each step he took out of the shadows revealed more of himself until only one secret remained. Shade arrogantly believed he could help heal the wounds from her past, but now it was his own past that was trying to tear them apart. To keep Lily, Shade would have to use the very skills he had been trying to hide from her. The skills that made him a killer...a soulless monster.

Rerun
What disappointed you about Shade?
It was a rerun of the first 5 books. They would not even let me return it. I was so disappointed. I love the series but this had 100 chapters of previous books. I wish I had just read this one and left the others alone.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Lucky's choice
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Great as usual.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointed

Terrible Narrator.
I have loved all the Jamie Begley books with Elizabeth Hart as narrator, However, I can not listen to this book, no matter how good the reviews are. (I could not even get past the first chapter.) The male voices sound like cartoon characters. I will be returning it for a credit.

Narrator totally ruined this book
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
i love Jamie Begley's Last Riders series and Shade is a my favorite hero. I have waited for this audio for months but had to stop listening less than 3 chapters in. The Narrators nasal tones for the male characters totally destroyed any enjoyment I might have had.
Would you be willing to try another one of Carly Robins’s performances?
NO absolutely not. She needs to find another profession
What would have made this romance irresistible?
Any number of narrators
Any additional comments?
a total waste of a credit what a shame to ruin a great story

Great book spoilt by poor narration
What made the experience of listening to Shade the most enjoyable?
Ruined by narration
Who was your favorite character and why?
Shade he's the perfect alpha male
How could the performance have been better?
Was disappointed that Elizabeth Hart who narrated the previous books didn't narrate this one. Carly Robbins used the same nasally voice for all the male characters so there was no distinction from one to another they all sounded the same.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It's too long to listen in one sitting

The other side of Shade
Where does Shade rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Shade ranks high in the audiobooks I have listened to. Even though this book was a retelling of the other Last Rider books, but from Shades point of view, it made me realise that Shade really did have a heart. I don't listen to many MC books because I have been spoiled by the Last Riders.
What other book might you compare Shade to and why?
I don't think I have listened to another book that I could compare with.
What about Carly Robins’s performance did you like?
I had passed over the book many times because of the negative reviews about the narration. Yes I guess I would have liked Elizabeth Hart to narrate Shade but Carly Robins did an excellent job. I think sometimes we become so used to a narrator that we feel the series is let down when there is a change.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
As with everyone who listened to this book my special moment came at the end. This man loved his Lily so much that nothing was going to keep them apart.
Any additional comments?
If you are a Last Rider fan give this book and narrator a try. So what if Carly Robins says Killyama instead of KillYaMa. Maybe that's the way Jamie Begley meant it to be and Elizabeth Hart got it wrong! In my opinion it was well worth the credit.

I don't even have words for this! OMG!!! LOVE!!!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have loved this whole series and this one has to be the BEST!!! I can't even explain how wonderful this was. I know some don't like it cause it does spend a lot of time kind of recapping the previous books - BUT - it answers a lot of questions and show Shade's side of the story.
I don't want to give any **spoilers** BUT I must warn you to have a box of tissue available when you get to about 1 hr and 45 minutes left. All I can say is OMG!!!
Which character – as performed by Carly Robins – was your favorite?
Not my favorite narrator - there are so many others that would have been better. But the story was so good I over looked the not so great narration.

Favorite Series and Favorite Character!!!
If you could sum up Shade in three words, what would they be?
This is one of the best MC Series out there. Audible would be wise to pick up more MC Romance as it seems to be a customer favorite for many contemporary romance lovers.
What other book might you compare Shade to and why?
Audible should also pick up Jamie Begley's other books as well.
Have you listened to any of Carly Robins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Carly Robin's did a fine job.

OMFG AMAZING
Oh my I thought Shade's Fall was a fantastic book, but heck hearing more on Shade's views rather than Lillie's was more DEEP & I mean DEEP. So here we see the same areas of Where Lillie's life was in constant danger up to their wedding. But heck you would think that would be it for this great couple & family. But not such luck, even though we have that Acton up to that point, it just doesn't stop there & it seems like it's just not 1 person/team there are others & what a strong partnership not just between the individual couples but it's the whole Last Standing Biker's Club & then on top of that the other 2 clubs are there for the women, especially as the most kindest & forgiving lady Lillie is.
So after ALL the Acton & married life continues, we get the epilogues where we see the 1st I've jumps onto 4yrs later, 2nd one jumps another 14 yrs where their Son alongside Lillie's sister Beth & Razer's Boys going off. But then here we jump 32yrs & them being in their Golden yr of marriage, had the tears streaming down my face.
What a Beautiful Emotional DEEP Love Story.
