Publisher's Summary

It is 1995, and brilliant Australian Caroline can command everyone, except her own ghoulish mother. This means that things aren’t easy for Josh and Zoe, her husband and 12-year-old daughter. Josh teaches mime in Bristol and Zoe reads girls’ ballet books and longs for ballet lessons.

Meanwhile, on the east coast of Africa, Hattie Thomas, Josh’s first love, has taken to writing girls’ ballet books from the turret of her fabulous house. Hattie wakes from a dream of Stravinsky’s Pulcinella and asks herself about the composer, ‘Do his glasses look sexy?’ His glasses are just like Josh’s glasses from two decades earlier. From far and wide, they are all drawn together...

Predictable

Trapido is usually entertaining but this was so ridiculously 'happy ever after' it was laughable. The usual sadness one feels as one closes a book was relief in this case!

CAN I SEND THIS BOOK BACK?

I love the other Barbara Trapido books I have read but this one is not up to her usual standards. I just couldn't get beyond Chapter 2. Please may I return it for a refund?
