Publisher's Summary

Sex God, Rob Bell’s follow-up to the best-selling Velvet Elvis, tackles the controversial relationship between sexuality and spirituality. Published as part of the Rob Bell Classic re-launch, Sex God explores the links between love, sex, and God. ‘God and sex go together. You can’t separate the two’, says Rob Bell, because this physical world is intimately linked to deeper spiritual realities. And so, in order to make sense of sexuality, at some point you have to talk about God. With beauty and unusual insight, Sex God explores this connection.

Critic Reviews

"Bell raises the bar with this evocative follow-up to last year's bestseller Velvet Elvis. "Is sex a picture of heaven?" he wonders. It's all about God and sex and heaven, he says: "…they're connected. And they can't be separated. Where the one is you will always find the other." Bell's book isn't a sex manual, an exploration of the differences between men and women or a marriage how-to, though all of that is here. Instead, it's the story of God becoming human, of humans mirroring God, and love made manifest in the chaos of our humanity. Sex God is about relationships revealed in a way that elevates the human condition and offers hope to those whose relationships are wounded." ( Publisher’s Weekly)

relaxed

it's so easy to listen to. a very relaxed a genuine feel comes over by the author.
inspiring and mindful. for me personally touching on the different options of sexualities in relation to some of the chapters would've been thought provoking and even essential but maybe for the author it proved too controversial. overall though, I loved it as I do all of his work.

Spiritual Performance

Would you listen to Sex God: Exploring the Endless Questions Between Spirituality and Sexuality again? Why?

This book is reassuring for many wanting to discuss God, Christianity, sex and love. I also agreed with Rob Bell regarding the teaching of sex education
