This Book Opened My Eyes To Mindfulness:

listening this book turned my life around in my prayer time with God like never before. You see; I'm in the early stages of learning mindfulness, and I can say it really works. My prayer life is great, but you know deep inside there's so much more in just meditation alone.

Cuts to the Chase

A lot of authors write about the benefits of mindfulness, but few actually back it up with many actionable steps to practice. What this book lacks in length is made up for in quality. I felt a connection immediately and it was maintained to the end.

Empower Yourself with Useful Information

It a straight forward book with easy to apply techniques and useful information for understanding meditation and the basics of the mind. If you are beginning your "awakening" you will discover success is possible, forgiveness is possible and you can move beyond your past through development of a positive attitude and mental habits. If you are more advanced, it's a good refresher of basics and useful techniques to apply. Ian's books are a wonderful series of positive psychology coaching . I look forward to reading more.

Short and very practical

One of the best books I have read on the basics of mindfulness meditation. No weird words from India or strange (for westerners) poses and actions. The process to follow is clearly laid out and easy to follow with variations included that fit the needs of different people.

don't know what I was expecting, but I really enjoyed this book. I was listening to the book on tape and tried to take notes while driving (bad idea).

The Psychology Of Self-Esteem

It took me many readings to fully comprehend the ideas and themes of this book. Since English is not my first language, and my first having nothing to do with Latin and Greek, the author is not to blame. Actually the book is very well written

A Classic

His approach is reality oriented: Branden outlines the inescapable need for self-esteem, its source in reality and the consequence of the failure to live in accord with this need. The contrast between legitimate self-esteem and counterfeit self-esteem help to clarify and define this crucial concept.

Most important psychology book for beginners

For those interested in reading books about psychology, this book must be read. After you read this book, you will know how to tell the difference between a genuinely good book on psychology versus a fluff spinner-rack book.

Where it all started

note that the sentence completion work requires a bit of mental discipline. Those he berate that, in lower-ranking reviews, may deserve scrutiny of why they aren't in to that.

Excellent description of human behavior

This book explains psychology, starting from the most basic biological principles. It uses a cientific aproach of cause and effect to explain complex concepts such as emotions, anxieties and love. The explanations are usually easy to understand.

Based on Objectivism philosophy

As a non-academic I consider this title an excellent self-help work, because it's written with unparalleled theoretical depth and intellectual clarity not seen in Branden's later works or majority of self-help type books on today's bookstore shelfs.

Few elements of persona are as important to one's quality of life as self esteem. As one of the most notable authors on the subject, Nathaniel Branden offers a comprehensive overview of the elements and importance of self esteem.
