Great for teens/ younger clients

I work with kids/ teens, and enjoy using these in sessions. They are useful for: initiating conversations for those who struggle with social skills, along with anxiety & perfectionistic thinking, kids who are down on themselves. Honestly I was unsure if they would be too corny for teens. I spread them out and just take turns listening/ completing the task. Then I have the client choose a few to work on for the week! That way if they don’t vibe well with some they don’t have to utilize it. I don’t use the “write your own”- I get the point of it, but I always suggest or say if there’s anything you want to add or feel would be beneficial, etc.. I recommand this audio books, just sayin.. it's amazing!! 😉

Very useful for sparking discussions

I super love these Audio book. They really helped me sit down and be mindful to reach into my soul and cultivate more self compassion. I felt kind of nerdy at first and I am a work in progress but little by little I they are helping me have some more self compassion.

Very good listen!

This audiobook has lots of useful meditations for self compassion. I love this step by step guide, but it would be nice to have the actual book as an audiobook listen too. I have the book, but only listen a little of it. But I would like to be able to listen to the actual book as well. Definitely a must have guide!

Great book for improving self-esteem

This is a most interesting book, and is very easy to read and to comprehend. Since self esteem is critical to a well functioning and well planned, healthy life, and you really cannot succeed without having healthy self esteem I would encourage you all to read it and other books like it as often as you can so that the concepts will get embedded in your psyche.

Let self compassion changes your life

This book is a labor of love from the author. Her writing is very accessible, down to earth and will definitely touch the core of every listener who wants to learn about self compassion. As I delve further and further into the book, self compassion starts to manifest in my life and what a powerful tool to have in our arsenal to face the numerous challenges that life through at us. The author also narrates her own stories and her own challenges to show you that self compassion is not a woo woo stuffs but proven way of how to rewire your brain. She made a good distinction between self esteem and self compassion which is very interesting because every body wants to have high self esteem without having a clue as to which rabbit hole that they have unwittingly entered. I won't provide spoilers here but it is an important understanding in order to spur our own evolution towards a higher dimension.

Just awesome

If you have been using CBT for anxiety and depression but have only gotten so far this book will finally help you see the path to real healing. After doing a lot of CBT listening I was slowly starting to cotton on to the idea that self-compassion or something like it was going to be the answer. The trouble is that while CBT incorporates elements of self-compassion it never clearly and explicitly outlines it, so the idea was kind of vague in my mind and I didn't know how to put it into practice.So for this every one should follow this book.

Changed my life more than any other book!!!!

I am definitely one who is searching and of ALL the hundreds of books I have listen, lectures and sermons I have taken in, NONE have touched on the subject of self compassion the way Marsha did. What stuck me the most was how she boldly illustrates how the self-esteem movement has failed and why. I think that many of the other authors and gurus still use the language of self esteem and thus their messages of compassion was shrouded, which is why I believe that this book is a MUST LISTEN for anyone who is trapped in the vicious cycle of self-hatred, self-loathing, self-criticism and anything else that we do to ourselves that is less than kind.

Life changing

At age 66 and just retired, I was not sure I could learn much from a book that would truly impact my life. Happily, I was wrong. Marsha Mckay has presented a clear and compelling description of self-compassion. It affirms much of my life experience up to now. From her book, I have learned new ways of thinking and being. I am hereby resetting my sails and, with renewed enthusiasm, setting off into the future, and the final chapters in my life. I am more open to what is, grateful for my strengths, Listen this audio book.

Great audio book for boosting self compassion!

I received these books cards as a gift and I am so happy I did! These audio book are simple, yet powerful and are great for a quick self-esteem and self-compassion check. I have also used them with clients - kids, teens and adults suffering with low self-esteem, depression and anxiety and they have been well received by all. It's a nice little boost throughout the day and I really think everyone would benefit from using them in their day to day life!

Great listen very calming and useful!

I didn't realize at first it was mainly about techniques but I was surprised to find that style even more useful and very insightful with various types of meditation techniques provided and demonstrated. Interesting add to the personal development collection.

Best audiobook!
