Finally! I’ve had this book on my TBR for so long, and it was so worth it! I only wish I had read it sooner.

This follows Bennett Sharp, a woman meant to blend into society and do as she’s told due to family duty. But she has a wild side—her father is a well-known pirate criminal, traveling the seas. Everything crashes down when she loses the two people most precious to her in a single day. Now, with her one true love, The Jade, in her hands, she must take to the sea as both a woman and a captain.

Just a warning—before diving into this, be mindful of the very graphic, dark content and themes.

From the start, Bennett is the fiercest, strongest, and most feisty woman. She’s honestly such a brilliant character—it was refreshing. Don’t get me wrong, she could give in to desire and be deliciously dominated, but boy, did she put up a fight. Her teasing and tempting nature toward the men in her life was practically illegal.

I loved Commodore Ashley and Priest. I think Ashley takes the cake, though, because that man had me sweating in his scenes. Such a hot-and-cold character, but he loves control, and Bennett rattled him. Priest hunted for her, never gave up on her, and I loved when they finally reconnected as one again.

I will say—I did not see that plot twist coming. I screamed when I finally understood why things happened the way they did. I loved the plot, the characters, and how dark this story was. I don’t want to say too much more—just read it! It was so worth it.

Steamy and sexy with a heaping side of naughty, this is not for the fainthearted. Trigger warnings galore & R-rated. I loved it!

I was recommended this book by a friend so I gave it a go and stuck it out.
I found the story had holes in it and things that were given a lot of focus at the end were just kinda blown over. I also found some of the “romance” a little unrealistic with there back story.. it was a confusing book that just in parts didn’t make sense.
Also as I trigger warning there is rape in this book and quite a bit of it.
I personally wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone purely because it wasn’t for me.

I love a swash buckling female character. I listened to this in under a day. Loved all the adventure on the high seas and the two male leads characters. But do check out the TW's Will definitely re listen

I started this without reading the synopsis or tw's (advisable) based off a booktok recommendation for an enemies to lovers with a strong female mc. Understatement of the century lol! I felt the uncomfortable traumatic scenes were so well written that I was able to identify with the emotion of the mc and get through it. This book was one I devoured in one sitting. I had suspected the ending but the action packed adventure kept me hooked for the entire journey. The love story is something I could only dream of. Raw and beautiful. Love love loved it. CB.

OK, I'm not sure how to feel about this book, while the last 20% left me with the warm and fuzzies, the rest if it left me with quite a bit of loathing. While I understand the sentiment of the era of the 1700's I just felt the months of blackmail and r×pe that the FMC had to endure was OTT, just to show that she needed her men by her side so that that didn't happen again.

I enjoyed the narrator, she was quite good. I'll happily listen to her again.

Seriously, I could not stop . . . This book reminded me of the torturous historical romances I used to read back in the 80s - usually a pirate romance or some alpha male dominating a heroine. Bodice ripping stuff but an erotic step further. Thing is, this heroine truly gives as good as she gets - she is put through pure hell but I'd imagine that is kinda what women went through in the age of piracy! I did not expect to fall so in love with the pirate hunter, but their dark romance, their captor/captive love affair was seriously HOT! Whilst I enjoy MFM romance I am not too interested in MMF - this ended up being a bit in the middle (no pun intended) - so that part of it was okay but not great and the end got a bit sloppy. I think the words soul-crushing or heartwrenching come to mind when I think of this book - in particular the pirate hunter foreplay. Not sure but there is a darkness to the love captured here and it makes you ache! I had read the book before listening and whilst I enjoyed the performance I thought it could have been sexier - the voice just didn't match our adult heroine in my opinion.

Not for the faint hearted! Main female character is constantly in danger. A rollercoaster of action, adventure, violence and explicit sex. Be aware that there is rape and torture in this book. But it all ends with a HEA so was worth it. Narrator was fantastic and I was hooked from the first chapter.
