Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Like book not price
I love the story in this series but really disappointed with Audible Australia. Everything is the same price and this is half a book at full price. Give us some discounts for shorter books and for heavy users of audible Australia.

Good book but should be cheaper as half a book
I really love this series but I would have liked to see some kind of discount for this instalment as it less than half the normal length of the main books for the same price. Was a good seaway from the main series and good to get to know some other characters more deeply.

There should have been more!
the storyline continues and ends way to soon. was just getting into it and then it was finished. the first three books were excellent both in terms of the story and value for money. This one was a bit of a let down in the value department.

Paid for a full book, only got half
Great story and performance of course but why did I pay full price on only half a book?! Am yet to see if I needed to get this ‘3.5’ version of the series. Seriously Audible, give us what we pay for!

Full price for quarter story
ok story and good narration. but disappointed that it was a quarter of the length of all other books in the series and priced the same as others. this book can be skipped - it is not a valuable inclusion in the overall series.

Great, but.....
Great book in the series, a little more detail and insight to the other group of characters.
but, there's no Skippy and Bishop. Understandably as they're not with this group of humans at the moment, but the humor those two bring lift this series above the other space based sci-fi.
i still loved it, just wasn't as funny
