Following a ferocious battle against Nurgle’s hordes, Lieutenant Quiller and the crew of Titans’ Bane are trapped inside the stricken Shadowsword. With her Cadian unit half-depleted, Quiller is forced to rely upon Paragonian and Mordian replacements.
Vicious infighting within the tank soon becomes as dangerous as the enemy outside. In order to survive, Quiller knows she must remind her men that loyalty, camaraderie and self-sacrifice in the name of the Emperor transcends all planetary customs and patriotism.
It was shorter then I expected for but still an exceptional story. definitely worth a listen, especially if you use a credit like I did.
loved the story and acting helped me get back into warhammer 40k wished it was longer
What made the experience of listening to Titan's Bane the most enjoyable?
The level of detail that is present in the story; a tank crew fighting over differences while attempting to survive in a real dung heap of a war zone.
What other book might you compare Titan's Bane to and why?
Not another book but rather a film: Fury.
Which scene was your favorite?
Just after the intro.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Any additional comments?
The sound quality is also good; you will not feel as though the story is too quiet (perfect for those who listen with headphones in noisy environments - an increase in volume is not needed more or less).
I love the different actors voice actors, I love the radio sounds, I love the way they talk while in the tank. It's all amazing.
I thought it was gonna be shitty because it's so short but it's really not. The voice acting is just amazing.
So steady on the ramparts, lads
And let your banners fly.
Weep not for those who fall today,
For we shall never die.
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Much much longer
Would you be willing to try another one of the narrators’s performances?
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Titan's Bane?
none I would have added much more
Any additional comments?
If this was a book it would have been about 10 pages long. very disappointed.
The story was a bit naff, played by some safe tropes which is fine and worked because what's really great here is the sound design. feels very claustrophobic, very immersive. very enjoyable, shame it's so short!
This is a most listen by any fan of Warhammer 40k and/or tank enthusiasts! The cast portray a diverse range of characters from multiple worlds and beliefs within the short 45min running time.
The only criticism I have for this audio drama like all that come from Black Library is that there's zero chance for a follow up, would be a good step from the studio to have a series or two that threads together.
It’s only 45 minutes long, but it’s enjoyable, loud and makes you feel you are in the shadowsword with the crew of the super heavy.
Great effects and an engaging story. Worth a listen.
WOW! fantastic story, amazingly performed , only downside is that it is not longer, even still fully recommended.
