Story
When a banished witch falls in love with the legendary trickster Loki, she risks the wrath of the gods in this moving, subversive debut novel that reimagines Norse mythology. Angrboda’s story begins where most witches' tales end: with a burning. A punishment from Odin for refusing to provide him with knowledge of the future, the fire leaves Angrboda injured and powerless, and she flees into the farthest reaches of a remote forest. There she is found by a man who reveals himself to be Loki, and her initial distrust of him transforms into a deep and abiding love.

Story
The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

Story
Katarina Ashowan was not made for courtly life. Sure, her father is the famous house witch of Daxaria so she was raised among majestic castles, proper manners, and royal expectations. But Kat is also a mutated witch whose power aligns predominantly with fire. She’s more comfortable riding horses or learning to fight than she is making polite conversation and wearing fancy dresses. Which is why her upcoming assignment—serving her best friend, Alina, the soon-to-be crowned Troivackian queen—is anything but ideal.

So good! Would recommend to anyone!
This trilogy is so wonderful, I'd recommend it to almost anyone. Kept some mystery, there's adventure, fighting, the supernatural, romance and friendship. I honestly cant even explain how much I loved the series.
I also really loved that the narrator did the accents and different voices, it really brought the story to life. My only complaint is that she spoke so slowly that I had to keep it at 1.75x or 2.0x to keep up with the pace of the book. So really, think of it at like a 7.5-9hr read

world of wonders
"World of wonders" with beautiful writing and great characters like Vasya, Solovey, Morozko and Sasha, Dmitrii, and Olga. Set in medieval Russia where the old spirits ('chyerti') are being gradually forgotten by a people who are moving to Christianity. Vasya, thought to be a witch, chooses a life of adventure and danger exploring the world. Lots of action. Good fantasy.

Beautiful
I am totally in love with the series. It is one of the best tales I have picked up in a long time. Whether it is because I know nothing about Russian folklore, or whether it is just the joy of reading something written so beautifully it is now one of my favourites.

Gripping, better than the first book!
Story really picks up in this 2nd book for me. By the end of the story i was holding my breath not knowing how it would end. I applaud the author for a vivid tale & the Russian medieval setting is refreshing. Can't wait for the third book now!

Lost in Old Moscow
I loved this and finished it so quickly! I'm making my way through the trilogy in lockdown in winter in Melbourne. The mix of old Russian folklore plus historical accuracy makes for a magical tale. I was immersed in old Russia as with the first book too
