Despite the change in narrator I still enjoyed it
I agree that M Wolf was better as narrator and this series would have been 100% awesome if he'd stayed on, but the stories and the interesting little historical accuracies about knights, armor, fighting and campaigns still make the series worthwhile. The narrator did not annoy me as much as I thought - it was just the initial change at the start of this book that felt jarring and perhaps the fact that some characters accents were changed to the point of ridiculousness (for instance, Tom sounds like a strong dude you wouldn't want to mess with in the first two books- even a bit of an attractive accent- but then this narrator makes him sound like an old pirate and it is laughable). The story was good and I found myself on the edge of my seat at times with some interesting twists and turns.

Epic story.. gets bigger and better with each book
As everyone mentions; the change in narrator is distracting and noticeable.
From mispronunciation, not singing where previous one did, to completely different interpretations of voices/ and age associated, it’s quite annoying. Although I do prefer red knights brothers voice and character choice here.
The story was epic.
I’m in constant surprise and shock at the authors ability to have such an army of characters names and that I recall so many of them.
Bigger battles, bigger stakes and a constantly evolving story.
I loved this book from the get go..
Am beyond excited for the last 2!

A slow burn, but well worth the listen!
This book takes a bit longer to get rolling than some of the others in this series, but it really kicks off about half way through.
The only major issue I have is the narrator, he's isn't bad at all. But he isn't as good as the first one, and he seems to have an issue with changing pronunciations of characters and places, with them changing throughout the book.

Another glorious Red Knight battle
Now into the third book of the Series i can understand the narrators comand of the book hes been given to read to us. and enjoy the coming battles of the Red Knight and his heroic crew of battle knights and followers as he rescues a Queen and battles the Magic of Thorn and the Wild plus also the hidden black magic of the Dragons that bind them all into a web of valour , honour and brutal slaughter that has only one ending and hope .To live.

Knights, magic and monsters
If you like the malazan series or game of thrones you will love these books, an anti hero, mystery and magic with some witty characters, tongue in cheek humor and great battles

Only buy if you’re starting with this book.
As with all Miles Cameron’s books, the story is pretty good. The period authenticity is even better. But I only know that because I went and read the book. This useless recording is unlistenable. If they’d used this narrator from the first book it might have been acceptable (he’s a two to three star reader), but changing from the much better reader in the previous two books destroys the experience. It’s like turning on your favourite show and finding they’ve replaced the whole cast and slashed the budget. It feels like an insult to get this after paying for something much better.
I’ve tried to find out why it happened, but haven’t been able to. I think it would feel like less of an insult if I knew why ;assuming there was some good reason). But, really, publishers should plan to avoid this sort of thing in advance.

Should never have changed narrator.
Not impressed with a change of narrator between books. While not terrible he changes name pronunciations several times. Story is still great and is as bloodthirsty as ever.
