Through no fault of his own, the once human Jim Eckert had become a dragon. Unfortunately, his beloved Angie had remained human. But in this magical land anything could happen.

Worth the listen
Narration is a bit robotic, but worth it for a great story. Classic sword and sorcery fantasy. Dragons, wizards, knights, castles, ogres and all that good stuff!

Slow and boring
I see that the narrator is getting quite a criticism. Since I always speed up the playback, the slow narration didn't bother me as much, but the cadence of his speech did make me fall asleep a few times, it was quite monotone. Unfortunately, the book has its own issues. There can be many words said with very little happening, so I really found it slow and boring. When you speed up playback and still find it slow, then the writing is the problem.
The thoughts of the hero were painstakingly elaborated and yet his personality was quite bland. The story was also quite bland. Save the damsel in distress by forming a party. The interactions within the party were nothing special either. The party members were very forgettable too. The whole book was a big meh.
This is just super-generic mediaeval adventure, with even the background of the hero coming from the present world having not been adequately used. It can be excused for being generic since it was written in the 70s so it was probably not so generic at the time, but I am deliberately gauging it against newer, more compelling stories since then.

Terrible narration
narration sounds like a computer generated one...just terrible, gave up after 5 mins, not worth it.
