Good story with a touch of heavy handed feminism

Good story and enough going on to keep it moving, the feminism is a bit in your face and unnecessary. Quite disconnected from the first book,

Not one of Baxter's better books but it was ok.

The story didn't drag me in and seemed a bit far fetched for where I imagine we will be at in 2037 (to be fair it was written in 2005) but it kept me interested enough to complete the book. I will no doubt read the third book just to see how it all concludes but overall I just couldn't bring myself to give it a higher score as much as I would like to, especially being a fan of Baxter's work.
