Publisher's Summary

The thrilling third instalment in the Millennium's Rule series by international number one best-selling fantasy phenomenon Trudi Canavan.

Five years have passed since the Rebels confronted the Raen. Five years, in which the boy Rielle rescued, Qall, has grown up among the Travellers, with no memory of the life that was stolen from him. Five years of chaos, barely contained by Baluka and the Restorers. Worlds are at war, some overrun by deadly machines, some drained of magic by power-hungry sorcerers.

As Qall comes of age, and Rielle and Tyen's hard-won peace is threatened, their loyalties are tested - and Qall's very existence is at stake. Because Dahli is still determined to restore Valhan to power, and he will stop at nothing to succeed.

Escape to a new world. Discover the magic of Trudi Canavan.

felt rushed and disjointed

it was a good story but just felt like a rush to deal with issues from the last book.

but my biggest issue is having the same character voiced by two very different people. This made it feel quite disjointed.

if you lile the series then clearly your going to listen to this and it is a good addition.. just a bit of an anticlimactic one.

Brilliant story

Fantastic story. I thought this was the final book but now I'm eagerly awaiting the next. My only critique is that the voice actors use really dofferent accents to pprtray the same characters. I wish they had worked together to standardise that a little better.

Great continuation of the story

Though we wanted a long time for the release of this book it was well worth the wait.
It further expands the cultural and vibrant universe that we have come to know in the first two Books, as well as develop the characters we love.
(Even if you just want to slap a certain spy for constant lies)
Can not wait for book 4

Soso narrators, great story

This series just gets better and better for every book. If you liked the previous two, you are gonna love this one.
Sadly, the narrators pronounce names differently which takes you out of the story since Tyen and Rielle both meet the same characters and each other.

Decent read but very slow

Great author, but this is a natural slow part in the story. Also, the female protagonist seems to get less intelligent with each new book. I'm not a fan of whiney pacifist characters who refuse to deal with problems and just keep running until everything blows up in their face getting several people killed in the process.

Really poor book!

What was most disappointing about Trudi Canavan’s story?

It was only traveling between worlds and skimming. Boooring! So boring, that I didn't even listen to the end.

Shame that the two readers pronunciations are different.

It's a bit jarring that the way the two readers pronounce important characters and places is so different - though the change in narrator isn't bad. Easily the weakest of Trudi's novels so far I now have mixed feelings about the upcoming fourth book.

Trudi succeeds again

The story so far, as with all trudi’s books is un-put-down-able. Ticks every box. Easy to read (& listen) (I’ve done both) and always leaves you wanting more.

The audio book specifically - as with all audiobooks, you always have to push through the voice. Many accents “annoy” especially if your listening for 15 hours! Luckily both voices are easy to get used too in this bolinda reading/series. It took a few chapters mind... this was the case for 1, 2 and 3 books. But was very well worth it.

Lovin it,lovin it, lovin it

Plot developed well with some interesting changes in character abilities. Struggled to stop listening so always a good sign. Narrator uses few different voices making more interesting listen

Compelling and engaging tale.

This is a really interesting story that entertains throughout.
Having 2 narrators adds to the performance, 2 just would like them to agree on the pronunciation of names - it can get confusing when characters switch Worlds and the pronunciation changes.

So excited

Having waited for this since 24 hours after Angel of Storms was released, I couldn’t be happier. This book lived up to the expectations and kept me guessing throughout. Where many authors would have copped out, Trudi stuck everything through to the end. The performances from Grant and Hannah were great and brought the characters to life as well as creating an identity for each world visited. (Loved Hannah’s accent for Temayne). To get to the end and find out Trudi isn’t done with these characters yet makes me massively happy, I have no idea where their journeys will lead next and I love that.
Worth the wait and so much more. These are the sorts of stories that I dream of narrating.

First Trudi Disappointment

Oh, how I waited for this book! For the first time I'm disappointed with a Trudi Canavan book, though. I lost patience halfway in and considered stopping. Struggled through for little reward. Too much explaining, too little happened.
