Publisher's Summary

Harry Dresden, Chicago's only professional wizard, is about to have a very bad day. As Winter Knight to the Queen of Air and Darkness, Harry never knows what the scheming Mab might want him to do. Usually, it's something awful.

This time, it's worse than that. Mab's involved Harry in a smash-and-grab heist run by one of his most despised enemies, to recover the literal Holy Grail from the vaults of the greatest treasure horde in the world - which belongs to the one and only Hades, Lord of the Underworld.

Dresden's always been tricky, but he's going to have to up his backstabbing game to survive this mess - assuming his own allies don't end up killing him before his enemies get the chance....

Jim Butcher and James Marsters makes magic again!

The way Jim Butcher builds his story around both the obscure and familiar lore, mixed with all the popular culture we know and love, makes not just a believable and entertaining universe, but makes us see the heroes of his stories as people - 'There for but the Grace of God go any one of us' - and James Marsters has just become so entertwined with my idea of Harry Dresden that I can't see any one else performing him, and he does so with the perfect emphasis, whether it be in flumoxed internal monologue, or while yelling 'Parkour!' at any given opportunity - Listen to his performance, and you will see what I mean immediately.

Typical Dresden

Always enjoyable with its quirky humour. Highly recommend to any fan of the wizard for hire and his friends.

Always entertaining

Marketed brings butchers characters alive yet again. A fantastic listen that keeps up a relentless pace, as Dresden gets busted up and beaten around on his way to a typically against the odds triumph.

Narrator and author get better every time

It's great that with each book both the author and narrator skilfully add more depth, diversity and humour to the characters.

This series just gets better and better

I have been binge listening to the entire series. Each book flows into the next and never seems like a dull moment. Familiar characters developing into heroes in thier own right is really great.

If the next books better, i might die of enjoyment

AAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhh. I mean...WTF. Look when the thing happened (no spoilers) with the stuff - i was all *jaw droped... AND THEN... Like some more cool as f#*@ things happened and i litteraly 'WHOOPED' so loud the neighbours thought i had fallen over. How embarrassing it also made me cry at the same time (manly tears - adding it to the small list of books and movies men can weep at) so i just limped when the neighbours ran over to check on me and said i crushed my nuts falling off a chair to avoid the embarrassment. Rince and repeat the above like 5 times.

But F#*@ me then at the end end end.. Not the end... or the end end, because we know he writes layers into his endings so well (thanks Jim) some well over due S@#*T happened that made me nod staunchly in aprovial.

If the next book is better i just might die of enjoyment.

James Masters ur naration has gotten so good over this series ur sooo up their with the likes of RC Bray. Possably surpassing him *gasp... Heresy to say i know. Nail me up now.. Ive said it. 😳

Dresden X Oceans 11

The heist was an excellent backdrop for a reunion of characters and the introduction of perhaps my favourite yet, Goodman Grey, I look forward to him popping up in future.
