book is awesome

I love this book from start to finish the characters are well written and have a human side to them. The narrator did a great job with the narration of this book and the author did a great job with the story.

Unique but...

Nice bit of change from the normal type of litrpg but it’s a pretty standard MC who is the typical angry character, and then it’s a mess of writing jumping all over the place. Average.

Good story - not enough progression

The story is written quite well but it is very slow. Worth getting as I expect the next few book things will pick up.

Better than I expected

I wasn't too sure what to the think off the book and story however I got really hooked and smashed through to the first book and now moved onto the next books.

It does take a bit to get underway but you expect that in a series like that. I feel it is well paced and the the pace makes sense.

Massive fan of this series

After reading all of System apocalypse (to date), I decided to try listening to the series on audible. The narrarators ability to bring the characters to life was hugely enjoyable, despite my knowing what would happen next. His performance of the wise cracking Ali in particular was incredible and gave me new appreciation for the character.

I enjoyed both the story and the performance.

enjoyed it a lot. took a while to wrap my head around John and his emotional shortcomings but by the end I was hooked. my only complaint is the reading of stats and abilities gets tedious

Better than I expected

This was good, I listened to it over a week and a half which is probably ideal for this style of novel. The character was more complex and more likeable than I anticipated. Very well narrated.

bloody hard to listen to

The story is so far good, but the author has written in a way that is main characters pov, as if he's telling the story as its happening, but it feels like it's written in dot points, with every sentence starting with "I" I did this, I did that, I move to the left, I move to the right, please, stop with the I. It's like nails on a chalkboard at this point. Additionally, the time passed is brushed over so quickly you don't get a sense for how long its been, and it's absurd that people are level 34 seemingly straight away.
