Story
Everyone loves Mathias. Naturally, when he discovers it’s his destiny to save the world, he dives in headfirst, pulling his best friend, Aaslo, along for the ride. However, saving the world isn’t as easy, or exciting, as it sounds in the stories. The going gets rough, and folks start to believe their best chance for survival is to surrender to the forces of evil, which isn’t how the prophecy goes. At all. As the list of allies grows thin and the friends find themselves staring death in the face, they must decide how to become the heroes they were destined to be.

But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. A standout LitRPG with a fun twist
- By Ryan on 10-03-2018
Publisher's Summary
Rezkin is an elite warrior who aims to restore order in Ashai after Caydean's attack on the King's Tournament transformed former allies and trading partners into enemies. With no army and only a ragtag group of refugees, Rezkin must wrest control of the kingdom from the mad and powerful usurper, who seems bent on destruction, and this may not be the biggest challenge. If he fails, the kingdom will be ripped apart, and Rezkin will have violated Rule 1 - to protect and honor his friends - leaving him without country, purpose, or honor.

Good, but wanted a bit more.
I disagree with other reviews that the whole book was just a filler - however, I do feel the 3rd quarter leading into the last was a drag. I like the overall path this book has taken us with global domination and a new enemy on the horizon.

Epic Adventuriing
I highly recommend this series.
Wonderful, I've enjoyed every part of this epic fantasy series. This part was no exception, The narrator did a excellent job of keeping the story flowing and interesting. With so many characters it was still easy to follow and listen to.
Congrats to the author, it is a interesting complex journey through different worlds with a hero that is dark but ever enticing.
Dramas, magic, sea voyage oh all that you could want in a series.
My only complaint will be having to wait for the next part to come.
