Publisher's Summary

Introducing Geralt the Witcher - revered and hated - who holds the line against the monsters plaguing humanity in the best-selling series that inspired the Witcher video games and a major Netflix show.

After walking through the portal in the Tower of Swallows while narrowly escaping death, Ciri finds herself in a completely different world...an Elven world. She is trapped with no way out. Time does not seem to exist and there are no obvious borders or portals to cross back into her home world.

But this is Ciri, the child of prophecy, and she will not be defeated. She knows she must escape to finally rejoin the Witcher, Geralt and his companions - and also to try to conquer her worst nightmare. Leo Bonhart, the man who chased, wounded and tortured Ciri, is still on her trail. And the world is still at war.

the soul of the story has been lost

I prefer the Netflix tale to the books. The writer looses the plot all the time to the greed of money for more books and thier sales. I hung in to the waffling to get to the author's ending which is aimed at more Bok sales, very disappointed.

Two thumbs up

An excellent book. Dandelion's final scene in Toussaint is an extremely funny scene in narration.

Magnificent

I'm so glad that the Witcher books have been turned into audiobooks and shared on audible! Peter Kenny and his hundreds of distinct voices delivers a stellar performance. Incredible writing and storytelling. A superb end to the series.

Tantalising end to an amazing saga

This book was beautifully read and is able to transport you to another world.

There are only some slightly confusing segue moments. But easy to follow if you have listen to previous the Witcher books.

A complicated finale

So many storylines to tie back together. So much death. I’m unsure how I feel about the ending, but with so many of these tales, I’m never sure that I fully grasp which world a character is actually in at any given time. The narrator of this series is absolutely wonderful.

The final book covers many stories sometimes too much.

Jumped from many different worlds and stories, maybe too many for one book. Still good to finally discover what happens to our favourite characters.

Unparalleled.

My job allows me to listen to roughly 10 hours of each book a day and Peter Kenny’s narration/ voices keep me enthralled all throughout. Cannot recommend enough. The development of his narration has been a wonder to listen to.

Really disappointing

Ugh, I feel a bit ripped off after getting to the end of the series. I think there was a wasted opportunity to do some really cool things in here, there was a lot of build up for a pretty meh climax. I was waiting for Ciri to become this awesome badass that was wiser and stronger for her experiences, but was left very underwhelmed.

kinda suffered a little, but got there in the end

first thing to note technically is the audio quality kinda dipped here. actually noticed the clicking between takes which didn't take away from the performance of Kenny itself, but became distracting when noticed.

the story is somewhat all over the place and I found the first 3rd of the book to be difficult to follow at Times. once it got back to base a little with more of the direct narrative I was back on board.

I know the nilfgaardian war was meant to play an important role, even if it was a backdrop to the setting, but I'm honestly surprised how much Time was spent on it.

this is a book of epilogues in fast forwards and flashbacks with little indication of which will be which, sometimes. if you can see it through, you'll gain something from it like the old epic tales of ancient bards and philosophers, but be ready to have a Tolkien level of description and exposition to get there
