Story
Eric didn't ask to be a vampire. In fact he didn't even believe in them. Biting your own tongue with your fangs does a lot of convincing. Even so, being a part-time undead isn't as easy as you might think. It can let you hold down a day job, true, but sometimes the night "life" can be more than a little difficult, what with those bloodthirsty urges and predatory instincts kicking in.

Story
The world of man was brought to its knees with the zombie apocalypse. A hundred and fifty years have passed since man clawed and climbed his way back from the brink of extinction. Once again, one man finds himself once thrust into the forefront of a war he wants nothing to do with and seemingly cannot win.

Story
Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Possibly it's not to save a pair of drowning girls, not go 'viral' on social media and certainly not to let the local police take your passport, trapping you on a small 'party' island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. But Steve isn't the average guy, he's ex-military, ex-enforcer and ex-human. He's a one man nanite fuelled nightmare for those that cross the line, and he's decided that its time to clean up his act. He's going to make up for the things he's done, and save 'the little guys'.

Could they swear some more?
- By Twin Boulder on 03-12-2022
Publisher's Summary
It's not easy, being king. You can't always rule a kingdom and still do what needs to be done.
Eric - or King Halar, also known as the Demon King - has more than enough problems without the crown. But quitting the job of king isn't easy, either - unless you want to be beheaded. Most people regard that as an unsatisfactory way to quit. Even vampire lords tend to be cautious about guillotines. A king who loses his head has a real problem...or none at all.
It's time to sort some of these problems out, settle a few more, and kill the rest. But at what cost?
Knightfall is the fourth book of the Nightlord series. It picks up exactly where Orb (book three) ends, and carries on with an adventure of epic proportions!

Believably breaks the immersion.
Any additional comments?
The faults of the character are really well implemented in the words of the recounting but also massively hurt the pacing of events.
His qualities that likely hold his gift for enchanting synergies also saturate the story with boring details representing his train of thought.
His appreciation of method and science makes him a little prejudice and impatient toward the less critical minds of the "gods", alienating those who wait eagerly to see his conflict and discoveries with the pantheon.
Cant wait for the things set up in this book to bloom in the next!

Garon Whited is a true genius.
Will there be a book 5. ?
These books are truly amazing in their scope and creativity.
Garon Whited demonstrates a vast knowledge of all things especially his loved physics. Whited is a brilliant writer with a vast intellect.
The Nightlord is a complex character who constantly suffers from self doubt.
Despite his constant self examinations he proves to be a true humanitarian.
My only surprise is the way Whited deals with love and sex. The Nightlord who never lacks female attention, seems shy on this subject and doesn't deal well with it in the story. He seems ambivalent in all his romantic female relationships.
This is still my most favourite series ever (so far) and lastly I love Sean Runnette who is 'The Nightlord'
