Dreadful narration

I quite enjoyed reading Fright Court on my kindle and I thought it would fun to listen to the audible recording of it. HOWEVER....the narration is dreadful -- sorry, but she's awful and I cant understand the positive reviews.
She seems incapable of getting a sentence out without pausing to gasp for breath every three or four words. What is going on here? I'm sorry but I gave up before our heroine even escaped her first experience of the night court. It was just too annoying to continue. Does she get any better? Maybe, later, when I've tried to forget how bad it was, I might dip into the book further on to see if the narration improves but, if not, this will be returned to Audible for a refund.
