Love it. The entire heresy is one of the best story arcs of ever heard.
Well read, characters are engaging and voiced really well. I’ve started again after the series concluded and these stories are just as good the second time round.

Damn you Erebus
To broadly review this, it felt like a bit of a downgrade, coming from Horus Rising to False Gods. It might be the storyline that the author had to deal with, or it might even just be the difference in authors itself- that’s not to say that this isn’t a great story.
There are moments that made me feel joy, tension, sadness, and anger (most of which had to do with a particular Word Bearer), but the overall shift in Horus as a character after the events of Davin felt a bit rushed, and there were so many moments where his insecurities and decision to betray the Imperium seemed to stem from a real place, before suddenly swapping to “Muh Ambition” which, more often than not, was a bit jarring.
The best scenes in Horus Rising were those of conflict that the characters suffered within themselves. False Gods, while having some really good ones within Horus, does really well in its action scenes, which are visceral and violent, which is to be expected of the setting, and does not disappoint.
Great performance as usual, though I found Torgadden’s new voice a bit... eh. But I got used to it after a while.
TL;DR
Not as good as Book 1, still pretty good, eagerly downloading Book 3, I hate Erebus.

Thrilling and Chilling
This second Entry into the Heresy series is just as hard hitting and fascinating as its predecessor. Continuing to build the tensions towards the beginning of the Warmasters betrayal, this entry does a wonderful job of humanising Horus and the Astartes as they navigate the concluding acts of the Crusade. Emotional, gripping and spellbinding from start to end, can't recommend more highly.

Heresy
This was an excellent story. It builds upon Horus Rising really well and the characters were developed well throughout the story. The battle scenes are descriptive and were written to make you feel as though you are there with them. The way this story ends has you gripping your seat and ready to jump right into the next novel in the series. I definitely recommend this series.

Epic through and through!
This is my first listen through but my third read of this book. All these years later even knowing how it all ends up in 40K, it’s amazing how likeable and loveable all the characters are.
Characters that I know end up evil are written to be so relatable. You almost want to side with the villains!
An epic read and the voice talent is great.
