Story
After striking out on her own as a teen mom, Madi Price is forced to return to her hometown of Brandywine, Virginia, with her seventeen-year-old daughter. With nothing to her name, she scrapes together a living as a palm reader at the local farmers market. It’s there that she connects with old high school flame Henry McCabe, now a reclusive local fisherman whose infant son, Skyler, went missing five years ago. Publisher's Summary
This is Cruelty, the epic 10-episode serial novel collected for the first time in one massive volume containing thousands of words of horror.
On a lonely stretch of deserted Texas highway, Will Longmire breaks down. But he's not alone. In the dead of night, Innis Blake hits someone - or something - with her car. The figure should not be getting up. But it is. An unstoppable force is after Will and Innis. And before the night is over, both strangers will know the face of Cruelty. Forgiveness is only a few miles down the road, but safety is nowhere in sight. Every monster has its origins.

Weird yet entertaining....
What other book might you compare Cruelty to, and why?
There are no books that I have read that compare to Cruelty.....
Any additional comments?
This book is, for me, extremely odd. LOVED the storyline - even though the background story was weird and left a lot of holes. I didn't quite fully understand the basis of the storyline, but got the "gist" of it. I was really entertained this book and still enjoyed reading/listening to it.
Give it a go - if you dare.
