A slight disappointment

I sought out this book after discovering the author’s short story ‘Calved’ in the ‘The Year’s Best Science Fiction’ anthology. However, I felt that the story lacked the sensitivity I found so moving in the short story and hoped to experience again.

However, I welcomed the cast of LGBTQ characters and the incidental nature in which their sexualities and genders were written into the story.

This book was good romp and would appeal to fans who like the action and adventure side of sci-fi.
