Publisher's Summary

Rejoin Alburet Two-souled as his journey in Alpha World continues. He has two quests that still need to be resolved; one that deals with Nobility, while the other is from the Dark Lord. Before he can deal with either of them, Mindblown brings down the server. As they are about to launch a mass scale immersion testing phase.

Gerald, Marysue, Karen, and Fluffball are four of the lucky ones selected for the testing phase. Gerald plans to drum up recruitment for the guild, Alpha Company, during the meet and greet before the immersion testing starts.

The quartet of newly minted friends will meet for the first time in the real world. Will they get along or will something force them apart before the game goes back online with them immersed?

Fallen short of potential

The first book in the series showed so much potential but unfortunately the series has progressively gotten worse. The characters aren’t put in any tough situations and the story has become so monotonous in some sections, I found myself yelling at the speaker. The characters even comment on how much grinding there is. Just about every quest is the same - kill x amount of _______ creatures in between the over-the-top sexual innuendo. We get it, you want to have sex wth each other. Just do it and move on already!

The story has the potential to be a really outstanding book series but has failed to deliver.

Ok story, iffy performance.

I'm loving the ongoing story progression. But then there's the insistent narration of very boring fighting. It's talking MMORPG technical terms, where it should be talking about... you know, anything else? There is so much needless fluff that really should of been reworked and cut off but then again.. this is the 3rd book so eh.

Must Read

The premise was a little disconcerting I'll admit -- the main character is a prisoner who is being experimented on -- but I was hooked the minute I picked the book up.
The depth in the characters -- the flaws that are present & the natural way that relationships form -- was refreshing.
The genre of LitRPG seems to be books about guys gaming & grinding, it's refreshing to see a book set in an MMORPG which is about the people and their personal development just as much as their character development.
Definitely a must read for anyone remotely interested in the LitRPG genre.

Peter Berkrot is amazing in his portrayal and I have relistened to these books many times.

exceptional good read

Simply put the author has successfully brought together a bunch of personalities that work well in the book and the narrator is just simply a very gifted speaker
