Sweet Second Chance Romance
This was a sweet second chance romance. Grace was forced to break Lewis' heart when her parents forced her to marry the Duke of Abernathy. Years later, after she's widowed and her daughters are grown, she meets Lewis again. Now they're both free, but a lifetime stands between them.
I really enjoyed this romance, it's the fifth in a series but I read it as a standalone. The main characters are older and with plenty of experience behind them. It has some steamy scenes and the story kept me listening. The narrator was new to me, she reads dramatically with different voices for each character. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. It was a quick listen, and a good one.

enjoyed it
Would I listen to it again: probably
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes
What did I like? good pace, characters are engaging and is well written. Mature couple - story tugs at the heartstrings!
Twenty years on, Grace gets a second chance at the love she lost, but can the past be put behind them to start again?
Narrator comment: I enjoyed Barbara Rich's narration, she's done a reasonable job bringing this story to life, each character is clear and easy to distinguish. If I were being critical, her Grace sounded younger than I expected and her Lewis was a little creepy more than smooth & masculine, but neither was enough to throw me out of the story.

A bit better — if you don’t have to spend a credit
This was better than the Jane/Caleb story prior to this one. Still too insubstantial — it would take much to fill these stories out a little bit more ad make them more fulfilling and substantial. The problem with this one is that the narrator fell apart. Her narration was okay but her voices for every single character totally sucked! It sounded like a group of teenagers performing a book as a farce — like it was a big joke. Really disappointing. Interesting the way this author does this flimsy little stories. The first couple were a bit longer and more satisfying. These last two weren’t enough. Since they were in escape it was okay. I’m so sad that escape is disappearing in a month!!!

Enjoyable!
Another enjoyable story from Amanda Mariel in which the heroine is compelled to leave the love of her life and wed another. Thank goodness there are second chances for without them many a romance would have died a quick death.
Lewis and Grace are nicely suited and when they meet again, many, many years later, sparks fly and life takes a turn for the better.
I did enjoy this story but was not too happy with one thing in the narration which kept drawing me out of the story itself and that was Barbara Rich's male voice for Lewis. It was really not to my liking and made him sound like a 'bad' guy with a rather strange voice, which I really did not like. Besides that the rest of the narration seemed ok.
I listened to the audiobook version and my review above is voluntary and unbiased.
