Santa wächst in Nigeria auf. Reich ist ihre Familie nicht, aber dennoch geht es ihnen recht gut, bis – ja, bis Terror und Gewalt in ihr Leben eindringen. Nachbardörfer sind von den grausamen Boko Haram schon zerstört worden, und es kann nicht mehr lang dauern, bis auch ihr eigenes Dorf dieser Terrororganisation zum Opfer fällt.
Santas Familie ist vor Angst wie gelähmt: Gibt es denn keine Hoffnung? Müssen sie alle sterben? Oder sollen sie in ein fremdes Land ziehen?
