Publisher's Summary

When planning for the future we often ask, “What will the economy be doing this time next year?” Or, “What will be different ten years from now?”

But forecasting is hard. The important events that will shape the future are inherently unpredictable.

Instead, we should be asking a different question:

What will be the same ten years from now?

What will be the same one hundred years from now?

Knowledge of the things that never change is more useful, and more important, than an uncertain prediction of an unknowable future.

In Same As Ever, bestselling author Morgan Housel shares 24 short stories about the ways that life, behaviour, and business will always be the same.

Armed with this knowledge of the unchanging, you will have a powerful new ability to think about risk, opportunity, and how to navigate the uncertainty of the future.

As you see familiar themes repeat again and again in the years ahead, you’ll find yourself nodding and saying, “Yep, same as ever.”

unoriginal

I love Morgan Housel but this book is literally a collection of his blog posts. Save your money and just read them.

Important book

A great and informative book on things that never change. It’s well written and well researched. I loved all the insights and they were not the obvious things you expect. Well worth the 5 hour listen. I know I’ll keep coming back to it. It’s taught me a lot.

Incredible summary of how the world operates

Fascinating stories from the past to better understand the presents and feel more comfortable with what may come in the future.

The same chapter repeated differently,

Extremely disappointing repetitious during not conclusions basically after the first chapter, it was just a rewrite in a different manner after his past books I wouldn’t be referring this onto anyone

Look up from your screen, wake up, step off the hedonic treadmill, and dare to see what happens.

Another Great Book from the most courageously eloquent, and respectfully lucid young writer I know of. Same as ever m

A great follow on to psychology of money

Entertaining and enlightening but it didn’t really tie it all together. Very fragmented. Maybe the next book will do that?

Couldn’t put this one down

Excellent follow up to Psychology of Money. This broad ranging set of stories and questions hit home harder than the other top seller, ‘Sapiens’ that it references
