Publisher's Summary

William Tell Sackett had followed a different path from his younger brothers, but his name, like theirs, was spoken with respect and just a little fear. Where Orrin had brought law and order from New Mexico to the plains of Montana, backed up by the gunfighting talents of his brother Tye, Tell Sackett's destiny drew him to Texas after he had to kill a man. There, in the high, lonesome country, he came upon a vein of pure gold. All he'd wanted was enough to buy a ranch, but he soon learned that gold had ways of its own with men.

Very Enjoyable

This is a very enjoyable listen. There are nice twists and turns that keep you interested and wondering what will happen next. L'Amour puts his characters in some seemingly impossible situations, and then brings you along as they figure out how to survive and move on.

I haven't read a book by Louis LAmour that I didn't love. I hope to read them all. What an amazing man he must have been in his personal life.

Excellent western book.

Would you listen to Sackett again? Why?

If you ever seen the movie you will like the book. Of you listened to the book and never seen the movie get it. The sacketts is the BEST western I ever seen.

One of the best!

This Sackett story is a classic tale of the brotherhood of Sacketts. In all the novels, they talk about their willingness to help another Sackett in need, but this is the one that really displays this family loyalty. Many Sacketts come together to assist Tell Sackett in the fight of his life. It's a bittersweet tale, done only as L'amour can do.

Favorite book of the whole series!

David Strathairn does an excellent job narrating...as always. Excellent story line. One of L'Amour's best in my opinion.
