Terrorism can strike anywhere. Even in a city full of magic.
Appearing as another sleepy Massachusetts mill town, Llewellyn harbors a secret, it is a haven for the mystical and the supernatural. Its proximity to an inter-dimensional nexus allows its inhabitants to survive between the Ages of Magic.
Wielding runic weapons forged by his own hand, ex-cop Mike Brennan returns when the city of Llewellyn suffers a series of magical terrorist attacks. With a devastated police force and a city in shambles, Mike must rely on his family and some unlikely allies, including a powerless professor of theoretical magic and an apprentice druid not old enough to shave.
As events unfold, Mike is forced to face the dangerous consequences of his past actions, and decide whether to once again take up the badge and the burdens that come with it.
Together, he and his allies work to stop the attacks, and discover who is behind them. But the enemy always seems to be one step ahead, and has some rather unique allies of its own.

This is a very enjoyable tongue-in-cheek cop/ fantasy story. Loved the characters and world created by the author. Enjoyed the humor. I wasn't sure I would like it by the description, but that doesn't do the book justice. If you enjoy fantasy, monsters, unusual characters and an easy read, you will love this!
