A very enjoyable audiobook. Effie is a slightly different historical romance heroine. She certainly is able to get herself out of some very tough corners. In a very ouch way for one of her opponents. Gabriel is a tough person raised from the same place as Effie. Effie appears to be a lady with possible prospects but she comes from the same place as Effie. Some cloak and dagger things that all come out to the best. The story was a reminder of women and fighting for their rights especially in marriage.
Excellent narration.
