I didn't ever want it to end

This story would lend itself so well to a movie. The scenery, the graphicness of life back then, romance and pain. Do it please !

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I kept feeling that I had missed something along the way, like there was a previous book leading up to this one. It was often referring to the feud between an old family member and one of the workers, but it never fully explained what it was all about or why etc. I felt it needed to expand more on this aspect which would have helped give the story more "body". More story and time could have been given to Ruby's mother and explanation as to why she was left at the castle and then taken away as a young child. The story just left too many questions and unanswered story lines.

Has Ruby Flynn put you off other books in this genre?

No. I have read the other three novels by Nadine Dorries and very much enjoyed those stories.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Noreen Leighton?

Yes, Noreen Leighton was a pleasure to listen too.

Was Ruby Flynn worth the listening time?

No I don't think so. 9 hours of listening to be left with too many questions and unexplained plots.

Any additional comments?

I think the characters were a let down, there really weren't any outstanding personalities that you could either love or dislike. The story just seems to only skim the surface and there were so many opportunities for explore the characters and expand on them and make it into a very enjoyable captivating read.

Enjoyable - but lacks "body"
