Publisher's Summary
Some memories are too painful to forget....
American History lecturer Paul Mahan was looking for a little peace and quiet. A place to recover from his personal demons, and pursue his academic career. But when he moves into the newly refurbished Rookwood Apartments, he soon finds himself trapped in a living nightmare.
A series of terrifying events forces Paul to question his sanity. Strange messages scribble themselves across the walls. His beautiful neighbor seems to vanish without a trace. And a deadly accident tears away the veil from Rookwood’s dark past.
As these violent incidents escalate, residents call in a paranormal expert, hoping to end the strange accidents once and for all. But only Paul understands the chilling truth. The pain and torture of Rookwood’s blood-soaked past can no longer be contained....
And a terror beyond anything they have ever experienced is about to be unleashed.

Love this book
Loved the story line, loved the narration. I read the book but listening enhances the story as I can be doing multiple things while listening (driving). So worth the download

Rookwood asylum is still not a good place to live!
Whoever thought that turning an insane asylum into an apartment complex must be off their rocker! I definitely wouldn’t want to live there! I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I wasn’t sure if I would, so that’s saying a lot. I can’t wait for the next now.

Ghostly Asylum/Apts
Paul Mahan rents an apartment which is a partly renovated area of the asylum and is contacted by ghost named Liz (aka Annie) when all the ghostly adventures begin and there are many. I also enjoyed the character of Ella but hated Dr. Palmer and his experiments. Really enjoy listening to this series. Cannot wait for Palmer Entity to be on audible

Another great read by David Longhorn
Rook would asylum grabs you from the beginning. When the prologue starts raining a girl put in an asylum for getting pregnant after being molested ha Electroshock therapy sent into her brain at extraordinary levels. They were so high Dr. Palmer‘s assistant didn’t want to comply at first, but eventually he did. Unbeknownst to Dr. Palmer it would be a Annie’s Dying at to take Dr. Palmer and his assistant with her and then it goes to modern times and now we find Paul an American Living in London on his friend Mike’s couch after a bad break up start looking for apartments. Unbeknownst to Paul D asylum is now been made in the living space is for the rich or so it looks as if it was, but for some reason they’re going very cheap. Once He moves then this is one strange things start happening. Like the mysterious Liz who pops up, but he could never get her nail down to an apartment last name ET see she’s a teenager but a very mysterious one. She only gets more mysterious when his neighbor Ella and her mom are attacked by her dad and she tells Paul Liz took care of the bad man.
There is so much more to the story, but so much I can’t explain it all just know Liz is the key but Liz is not the only ghost. This book is So good! David longhorn He has a riding style that I love he has likable characters And write great stories. All of them seem to be a hit. Not to mention Tom Bowers Is always spot on with the narration. There is nothing better than a scare street book To make your toes curl and have grown adults putting the lights on. I highly recommend this book and it looks like it’s going to be a new Siri’s In one I am so excited about.
