About this listen

As the daughter of a famed author, Isolde Ophelia Goodnight grew up on tales of brave knights and fair maidens. She never doubted romance would be in her future, too. The storybooks offered endless possibilities.

And as she grew older, Izzy crossed them off. One by one by one.

Ugly duckling turned swan?

Abducted by handsome highwayman?

Rescued from drudgery by charming prince?

No, no, and . . . Heh.

Now Izzy’s given up yearning for romance. She’ll settle for a roof over her head. What fairy tales are left over for an impoverished twenty-six year-old woman who’s never even been kissed?

This one.

Hands down - Tessa Dare is one of my all time favourite HR authors. I’ve listened to almost a dozen of her books now and with each one, my fandom has only grown stronger. I am left gooey happy upon one happy ending and determined to quickly seek out Tessa’s next offering.

As always the main characters are cleverly matched and the secondary characters too have distinct personalities and add richness to the plot. This story is warm, heartfelt and amusing…a fairytale unto itself. Don’t hesitate to listen to this one. Carmen Rose’s narration is exceptional and you won’t be disappointed with this HEA.

The story was readable, it dragged on a bit. I felt the ending left some things unresolved.

Just okay

I've read this story and now I've listened to it as well. This audio book was just as lovely as I remembered it. The voice of the reader is melodious and fits the images I had of the characters. There is a good use of pauses and voices. A relaxing book to listen too.

Lovely.
