Depuis que les écureuils gris ont gagné la guerre des noisettes, les roux ont dû quitter les grands bois et se réfugier dans le jardin des Petites Bêtes. Un modeste jardin qui, en cette fin d'automne, ne donne plus grand chose, à peine quelques fruits. Et c'est bientôt l'hiver ! Robin décide alors d'aller reprendre ce qui leur appartient.
