Story
John McGuinness is one of the all-time giants of road racing, with a huge host of victories to his name. But his easy humour and down-to-earth attitude off the bike have always kept people guessing: what's the truth about the man inside the helmet that has kept him at the top of such a sport for over 20 years? His autobiography tells the whole story, from his humble beginnings in Morecambe and getting his first bike at the age of three, to working as a bricklayer and cockle fisherman before deciding to follow his dream, and finally to his many victories in the most dangerous sporting event on the planet.

A Manchester lad from Irish Traveller stock, born three months premature and weighing just a pound at birth, Tyson (named after his father’s boxing hero) grew up to become one of the most unlikely heavyweight champions in history. This ‘dream come true’ soon turned to nightmare, however, as alcohol and cocaine abuse took hold and Tyson was stripped of his titles. What followed was the darkest moment of his life - detailed in this book for the first time - in which he came within seconds of ending everything.

Within 33 days, he was racing again at Monza. His wounds bled; he had no eyelids. He was terrified. A year later, he reclaimed his World Championship title.

The Phenomenal Sunday Times Number-One Best Seller. It was the start of the third lap of the 2010 Senior TT, the last race of the fortnight. The last chance to get a TT win for another year, and I was pushing hard. Ballagarey. The kind of corner that makes me continue road racing. A proper man’s corner. You go through the right-hander at something like 170 miles per hour, leant right over, eyes fixed as far down the road as I can see. But this time something happened. Story
Since we last heard from him, Guy Martin has restored a 1983 Williams F1 car then raced Jenson Button in it; helped to build a WWI tank; ridden with Putin's favourite biker gang the Night Wolves; competed on the classic endurance circuit; stood on top of one of Chernobyl's nuclear reactors and taken part in his last ever Isle of Man TT. Then there's the stuff he really can't wait to get out of bed for: 12-hour shifts for a local haulage firm and taytie farming in his new John Deere tractor. Besides all this, he's saved his local pub from closure and become a dad.

Story
This is the remarkable story of Barry Sheene, the asthmatic, cheeky, Cockney boy who grew up to become a sporting legend. He won the British motorcycling 125cc championship aged just 20 and twice became World Champion in the 500cc class, despite two life-threatening crashes, both of which he overcame with great courage and determination.
Publisher's Summary
Michael Dunlop is quite simply the greatest road racer on the planet. Brother of William, also an accomplished rider, son of the late Robert and nephew of the late great Joey Dunlop, Michael can fairly claim that racing is in his blood. Now for the first time he talks in depth about his family story, how he got involved in the family business and how he manages to keep getting back on his bike despite all he knows of the deadly risks he encounters every time he crosses the start line.
The death of his uncle during a competition in Estonia in 2000 was followed just eight years later by the death of his father at the North West 200. But despite these tragic losses, Michael was undeterred, and, two days after his father's death, he returned to the North West - and won. The next year Michael won his first TT, joining both his father and uncle in the record books.
Now with 13 TT wins to his name, Michael is a phenomenal competitor, and in this sensational autobiography he reveals the highs and lows of racing, what it was like growing up part of a motorcycle dynasty and how that made him the incredible racing driver he is today.

Get the inside scoop
This book is for anyone that has great interest in TT motorcycle racing. Michael Dunlop takes you deep into his family history, featuring the racing legends that are his father and uncle, Joey and Robert. He covers their family commitment and sacrifices to be top tier racers, the good times and bad. If you want to know what a road racer thinks, feels, believes, and what motivates them, this is a great book. If you want to hear about the challenges of being a racer - mental, physical, emotional, business and personal - this is a great book. Being a motorcyclist, I found it very entertaining as well. Enjoy!

The best book about motorcycle racers, by far
The level of honesty and humour in this book is unparalleled. Highly recommended read, and that's a recommendation coming from someone who has recently finished autobiographies of Guy Martin and John McGuinness.
