A deep,concise look on anxiety & how to reduce it

If you could sum up Rewire Your Anxious Brain in three words, what would they be?

Informative, inspiring, easy-to-follow

It is enlightening and fascinating to have a deeper look on what cause anxiety. The book explains in details on how amygdala and cortex cause anxiety, worries, fears, and compulsive disorders - it feels like the book gives you a tour of your brain to see how it reacts when it is experiencing anxiety. The solutions provided in this book are very useful and effective in reducing anxiety.

What did you like best about this story?

The breathing and relaxation exercises in chapter 6 are surprisingly useful. I play it every night when we are ready for bed. My husband and son fall into sleep right away. : )

What about Susannah Mars’s performance did you like?

Her voice is clear and "authoritative" and makes you feel you can trust her.

A must read for everyone who struggles with any level of fear, anxiety, anger, depression etc


It truly does provide an insight into easy to understand, no jargon neuroscience that will help to calm you down by giving you an understanding

Practical, real everyday situations where people experience anxiety. The anxiety examples are broken down in a way so you understand how and why your brain and body is responding in such a way. To give you that understanding this book provides you with very insightful information to help you work through any situation, no matter how big or small.

I love how they explain the different areas of the brain that control the different thoughts, emotions and reactions so simply

Highly recommend for anyone who wishes to improve their coping strategies or knowledge surrounding anxiety.

informative, interesting, practical, helpful

Starting by describing the mechanics of anxiety and the physical processes behind it, the book then categorised different types of anxiety and provides exercises that allow the listener to identify the type(s) of anxiety that they may suffer from. this is followed up with practical and specific advice on how to combat each type. Each chapter has a good summary. the book has a good pace. the only criticism i may have is tbat the reader is perhaps a little robotic in the delivery. nevertheless the content and structure of the book make it outstanding. would recommend

Getting down to the crux of it.

A clearly elucidated journey into the neurological basis of anxiety. I found this very useful in managing my own anxiety including – with the text’s biological basis – removing some of the stigma about the experience of anxiety. This overall approach was also very complementary to all other methods I engage in to manage anxiety such as therapy or more socially based approaches or texts

Fantastic for anxiety

Fantastic book for those suffering from anxiety. The detail about the brain and what happens during an anxiety response makes so much sense and in turn, easier to manage the symptoms. Would recommend this to anyone suffering anxiety.
