Story
Though Honora Tannach came of age amid the misty moors of the Scottish highlands, where warring clans battled to the death for the future of their wild land, nothing frightens her so much as a lifetime trapped in the castle of her cruel stepfather. She is thrilled when a marriage is arranged to the son of a Scottish laird...until her betrothed is revealed to be Cavan Sinclare. Though the savage warrior once saved her life, Honora knows no one can tame the heart of such a brute, no matter now finely chiseled his features or how enticing his eyes...

Not to shabby
Enjoyed this book for what it was. Sometimes it seemed a bit immature but I suppose the simplicity is relevant in a romance novel. Not a huge amount of romance however but the story line was interesting enough. The voice actor was annoying at first but soon grew on me. Lots of familiar names if you're into Outlander but maybe they're just fashionable Scottish names....

A traitorous tale, with redemption in love
The heroine preserves against the sadistic attraction of her step brother.
A chance encounter, when she isn't aware, shows the gallant knight, who would be her saviour, what she is made to endure.
However, the scars on the body, isn't the only scars she has, and it is the emotional impact, of what she has endured, that has to be overcome, before a true life of a woman and wife can be lived.
The hero is both a ruthless knight of the times and a caring loving liege, caring for his siblings in his charge, with care, consideration and respect.
This care he extends to the woman whose courage has won his heart.

Skip on by this one
The narration was very wooden and monotone. The story line was predictable and poorly written. Some of it was downright creepy. I couldn’t finish this book and glad I didn’t pay for it. I can believe it received such good reviews.

Sadistic cruelty. An awful premise.
I couldn’t read past chapter ten. Two sadistic main characters working together, a heroine constantly frightened and shying away from the hero who keeps yelling at her. Not for me.
