The story was fine, save the unnecessary cliff hanger. The books in this series could easily be combined into one book. I personally object to authors using these trick to increase profits. Publish the story as a whole and charge more for it. At the very least they should be honest about cliff hangers in the product description. For this reason alone, I won't be buying anymore of this authors books, but to each their own.
There are also a number of really obvious mistakes, either the narrator or the author uses the wrong word. Regardless both books would be vastly improved by the services of a decent editor.
