Publisher's Summary

From a secret duo of USA Today best-selling authors, comes the first complete standalone in the Single Dads Club set of books.

Red flags....

Too loud. Too clingy. Too much make-up.

I could go on and on. The other guys in the Single Dads Club would say I'm obsessed with finding them. But none of their kids' mothers call a maximum-security prison home either, so their opinions mean shit.

Caterina Santora has her own list of red flags....

She's too young. She's my client's daughter. She's my five-year-old's camp counselor.

Even after repeating this mantra to myself every morning on the way to Lily's summer camp, guess what happens the moment I see Cat? Yeah, that mantra turns into ride me, doggie style and reverse cowgirl.

Every. Damn. Time.

The fact that she doesn't remember me from six years before grates on me until I don't have it in me to leave her alone any longer. I have to have her. But our lives are opposites in every way. In no way compatible.

When we're together, all the complications fade away, and I have to keep reminding myself, even if I can have her - I can't keep her.

Alright read

The story line is good and the pacing of the storytelling was good, revelations and how realiatic the story is made it alright..but i hated the chuckles and giggling and laughs by the narrators, it broke off the flow. maybe its just me but i thought it would have been better to have one person read all through a chapter and not two at once.
but overall I liked the story.

Oh so smooth!

If you could sum up Real Deal in three words, what would they be?

Hot, different, funny

Who was your favorite character and why?

Katarina, she is the bomb!

What about Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross ’s performance did you like?

Oh my me, loved Wen's Marcus and Kai's Kat....Both of their voices are as smooth as satin pajamas on silk sheets!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I loved the fact that they both were in every chapter, with Wen doing the male voices and Kai the female. This is the first audio book I have listened to that did that and it really grabbed me and pulled me into the story! I did laugh and I did blush which a good romantic comedy should!

Any additional comments?

I haven't been a huge fan of audio books, however after listening to this story, I am hoping that more authors have their audiobooks performed like this, with both narrators in the chapter instead of just one per chapter. It's hard for me to listen to a man read a female part and vice versa. This book was so enjoyable to listen to! Thank you!

Enjoyed very much!

This is what happens to a lot of men in the world. It had humor in it and serious moments also. Wen and Kai are the perfect combination to make it come to life in their narration.

Female voice

I dont think the female voice matches the character. It kind of lessened my liking of the story - but she was a good story teller.

My Two Pennies

Oh my Marcus! Give me a man that is caring and will treat a woman right and I’m falling, add in a single dad that will do anything and everything for his child and I’m head over heels in love. The Single Dads club has a hilarious group of men that I can’t get enough of but when it comes to Caterina and Lily no one can tell Marcus to not be protective of them. This is a great story that had me hooked and couldn’t put down. I love how the characters from the other standalone series are intertwined within this one. I will undoubtedly be jumping into the other single dads books next.

Single dads of little girls

Le sigh...this book...looooved it!! Single dad, Marcus, is in lust w his daughter’s camp counselor. Caterina is also the daughter of one of his clients and 10yrs his junior. Still, the attraction between them is unmistakable and before long they’re in a relationship. Will the relationship survive the summer? Cat’s an artist, with scheduled showings in NY in the Fall. Marcus’ ex also pops up...she’s serving time for armed robbery. Marcus struggles with his feelings for Cat and pushes her away when he thinks that his ex may be granted visitation. Doesn’t help that Cat’s sister also warned him off. Draamaaa! The sub characters are great as well. Fabulous narration. Totally worth the listen.

The Real Deal

I really enjoyed Real Deal when I read the kindle version so I knew I would love the audio version. At first I didn't care for either Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott. I thought they didn't match the characters. However, the longer I listened, I realized how wrong I was. They brought the characters to life and I ended up really enjoying the audio. The only thing that I couldn't get over was Lily's voice. She sounded way too old for a 5 year old so sometimes I forgot she was the one speaking.

The Real Deal Dad

I really enjoyed this book about Marcus and Catarina. Marcus is a single, protective dad of 5 yr old Lily. He's such a great father that he even learned how to braid Lily's hair! Catarina is one of the summer camp counselors where Lily is going. Cat recognizes Marcus from 6 years earlier when they met and she threw herself at him but now she acts like she doesn't recognize him. Marcus recognizes her and tries to get her to recognize him. He always puts Lily first which is wonderful, but it sometimes leads to interruptions. They have some problems to overcome - he's 10 years older than Cat, he has an ex who is Lily's mother, he takes care of Cat's father's yachts, plus friends with differing opinions about their relationship. This book made me laugh and get upset with Marcus' friends and their advise. It's a little different than the previous books by Piper Rayne but it's still wonderful! I loved the duel narration by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross, The female read all the female parts and the male parts by the male so you got both at the same time. I requested a free copy of the book and am giving my honest review.

I LOVED every bit of it!

I'm picky when it comes to audiobooks. Sometimes, the voices sound wrong for the characters (I usually have Kindle copies read beforehand) or the narrator didn't satisfy me. HOWEVER, Real Deal is THE REAL DEAL audiobook! What set this apart for me wasn't just that the narrators did well with a book I love. They brought it to life. I have never heard the female narrator speak or verbally react while the male POV is being performed, and vice versa, in any other audiobook before. Like when it was Marcus's POV, Cat's laugh sounded or her words were spoken by the female narrator. That made a huge difference for me. I sincerely hope Piper Rayne keeps using this method for future audiobooks. It is amazing.

As for the story, I loved every bit of it. Real Deal is on my constant reread list and this version brought the feels in such a beautiful way. The heat was off-the-charts, the angst brought the heart clench, the joy was contagious, the humor had me chuckling and belly laughing. and the love brought tears to my eyes.

There is just something about a single dad!

5 Crazy Ass Must Read/Listen Stars!!!!!

Here is my review from reading it back in June 2017:
I just love Piper Rayne! Their debut series, Modern Love, hooked me to their writing and the start of this series has hooked me even more.
Marcus and Cat's story was sweet, downright sexy as heck, and filled with that humor that the writing duo is known for. I love Lily. So damn cute.
I really like when characters from other books (series) are folded into the mix of a new series. It's like catching up with old friends. So when I realized that Cat is Tahlia's (The Boxer) sister, I was excited.
The supporting characters have this book whore's curiosity is piqued that's for sure, especially to see what the douche canoe Dane brings to this series. I do look forward to seeing how PR will ingratiate him to me. It'll be interesting.

My thoughts on the story have not changed after listening to it. In fact, if I could give it more stars, I would. The narrators did an amazing job with Cat and Marcus' characters as well as all the other secondary characters. What I loved best was the dual narration. I loved how the female narrator did the female parts during the male POV and vice versa. It really added an extra dynamic to the story and story telling. I'm not too familiar with Wen or Kai's works so to find this duo has opened me up to even more stories I want to venture into. And there are quite a few that this duo narrated together. #bookwhoredreams I absolutely enjoyed this audiobook and recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet, sexy rom-com.

Boring story and characters

I was so bored throughout this book! Nearly stopped so many times. The hero is an arrogant moody a-hole - not sexy sultry and mysterious, just straight up moody. He doesn’t have any traits that are sexy or attractive. The heroine is just a bit dull too. There’s not really any plot either which doesn’t help, and it has a very anticlimactic and lacklustre ending.

I’ve heard about this duel narration thing where the male voice narrates the hero’s internal thoughts and what the male characters say, and a female narrator pipes in with any female voices, then opposite on the heroine point of view chapters. Other people seem to like this method of narration but it sounds terrible! Maybe it’s because the narrators aren’t good enough and the characters are rubbish. It sounds so forced with fake laughs.
