Publisher's Summary

Random House presents the audiobook edition of Quitters Never Win, by Michael Bisping.

Some people are born to be a certain thing.

And I was a born fighter.

At the age of eight, Michael Bisping began his training in martial arts. By the time he was 15, he was fighting in his first no holds barred competition. When he turned professional and joined the UFC he was sure about one thing: only a world championship title would do. A British underdog in the greatest fighting championship on earth, he spent the next decade winning some of the championship’s most sensational contests to achieve his dream, becoming the first ever British UFC world champion in 2016.

From his boyhood years learning to fight in the gyms of Lancashire to his most shocking clashes in the cage, in Quitters Never Win Bisping tells the raw and unfiltered story behind his legendary career for the first time, including his greatest wins, his fiercest rivals and the harrowing injury that forced him into retirement. As audacious, entertaining and as candid as the man himself, it’s a backstage pass to one of the world’s most extreme sports and an unbridled account of what it really takes to become a champion, from sleeping in his own car to reaching the summit of the world’s fastest growing sport.

Brilliant

I'm not a huge UFC fan, but this is more about a young lad wanting more in life and when the going got tough, the tough Bisping got going. This book kept me engaged for my 16 drive across Australia, I enjoyed every minute of it.

I enjoyed quitters never win from start to finish

thoroughly enjoyed it. as a big UFC fan I have seen Michael Bisping's career but hearing the full backstory was riveting. he's always been entertaining both as a fighter and a commentator. I applaud his writing skills now as well. the only negative is the narrator mispronounced many of the fighters names

Surprisingly Good

I’ve read a few fighter autobiography’s and they’ve all been a bit of a yawn, with splatterings of monster ego thrown in. This however was an honest and insightful look into England’s best fighter. I would strongly recommend and I’ll probably listen to it again in a few months.

5 stars all the way!!

What a fantastic read, literally could not stop listening. I’m an audio book nerd and this is one of the best books period - well written, perfect narration, very funny, yet extremely insightful. Thank you Mr. Bisping!!!!

Better than any self-help motivational book

What an excellent story of overcoming obstacles in life and taking a difficult career path. I wish that Michael Bisping read the book himself, but it was still excellent. Highly recommend.

The good and the bad:

A good listening material for UFC fans and non-UFC fans alike.

It revolves around the life of former champion Michale Bisping.

Narration is nicely done, and the narrator has tried using Bisping’s accent (or other accents where appropriate) as much as possible.

With regards to the content itself, the timeline is done nicely. As Bisping would say, shite level of honesty, but I think at certain times, Bisping has been more self assuring than it would be in actuality.

Loved the book, hated the narration

Wished it was Bisping who read the book but he did say on his podcast why he was unable to do it. I really wish he could sit down one day and narrate his own book because the narration on this title is an absolute travesty. I couldn't wait to delete this book from my library after listening because the reading was just so bad yet Bisping's story itself was candid and emotive. Do better by your won book, Bisping!

Winners never quit.

This is an honest, entertaining book and a typically British tale of triumph through adversity. I’ve been listening to the BYM podcast since its inception and thought I’d heard all his anecdotes but this gives another perspective on his life and career. In parts it feels like you’re getting the inside scoop on the MMA world.

My only criticism of the audio version is of the narrator.... he drove me mad! His mispronunciation of fighter names, weights, dates, TUF, RVCA and even Ditto’s name were all irritating enough but his attempts at accents were even worse!

I don’t understand why Bisping didn’t narrate this himself. As someone who now makes his living from commentating and podcasting, he has a funny, fluent and natural style of speaking and had he done it himself, it would have made this a much more engaging listen.

Great story , terrible narration.

Michael Bisping and his story is exceptional, however, so much is lost in translation because he did not read it himself. The narration is wooden at best. I’m guessing that Bisping accent may have been a bit much for the American market and that’s why they have used someone else to read it.

Bisping is best known (after and 2nd to his skills in the octagon) for his razor sharp Northen wit, the narrator does not do this justice.

The story is wonderful, a rocky story of the octagon age! His achievements are outstanding considering he fought quite a chunk of his career blind in one eye.

Great but reader, not so much

I loved this book however I struggle when the author does not read their own autobiography. I know you are busy but would have been a nice touch.

Best MMA book by far

Absolutely phenomenal book loved it,, by far the best mma book out there, unfortunately i didn't like the narration what so ever, I could have done with out the bad accents and constant pauses of sentences that required no pause, Also not entirely sure if the narrator knows much about MMA as throughout the book would get simple terms wrong and miss pronounce fighters names, that being said i still loved the book and could listen to it again Bisping was always one of my favourites!!

Great story from a great man.

what a great story and insight to a truly inspirational fighter. the narrating was good, American accents were a bit dodgy and I'm my personal opinion I would have preferred it to be read by Michael Bisping himself. But the story is truly inspirational. I'm a big fan of the UFC and of Bisping himself, since I seen him in TUF but this really gives you an extra insight. Brilliant, highly recommend.

Poor Narration

Great book, well written. But the narrator continually changes the voice of the different characters up to and including changing several English characters to American accents. Overall an enthralling book a bit let down by the reading.
