Publisher's Summary

Carlo Ancelotti is one of the greatest managers of all time, with five Champions League titles to his name. Yet his approach could not be further from the aggressive theatricals favoured by many of his rivals. His understated style has earned him the fierce loyalty of players like David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo.

In Quiet Leadership, Ancelotti reveals the full riveting story of his managerial career - his methods, mentors, mistakes and triumphs - and takes us inside the dressing room to trace the characters, challenges and decisions that have shaped him. The result is both a scintillating memoir and a rare insight into the business of leadership.

Carlo is nice. Really nice. Everyone agrees.

Carlo has achieved a lot and genuinely seems to be a good, kind hearted person. someone that I admire. The book obviously shows that you can achieve great things through being nice but I found it to be repetitive without adding much for the length of book. aside from many endorsements from many people as to how nice Carlo is.

Candy for any leader who also loves football.

I completed this book in less than 24hrs. It was completely engaging, a very honest work. It was very refreshing to find an extremely successful man who knew his 'quiet' strengths and stuck to them. The leadership principles in the book are very solid but have also been integrated seamlessly into the practical the experiences of Carlo.

Excellent oversight from Carlo

I really loved the story line. Quite an excellent read on how to manage a team of different talented people quietly and just getting on with results.

Good simple description of leadership

This book does a great job of giving specific examples of the quiet leadership model favored by Carlo Ancelotti. The books gives all the foundational pieces of quiet leadership without making you feel like there is only one way to approach leadership. I recommend for anybody in a leadership role or a member of a team (this is not limited to soccer/football or even sports for that matter)

Brilliant!

This book was a wonderful insight into Carlito’s life as a manager and how he navigates the daily life of a world class manager. Chalk full of good lessons for anyone in leadership roles while offering great insight into how he dealt with club management throughout the years. I love this book!

Lacks substance

Unlike many other sports biographies, this book just skims the surface. There are no major insights or learnings from Ancelotti's amazing career as a player and manager. Such a pity.

What a politician

This is quite different to the normal football biography. Carlo's book its almost an instructional guide on how to deal with personalities at a club. Normally in this kind of bio you get some stories on a few players who the author did not get along with but Roman Abramovic and possibly Leonardo are the only people to take a bit of a hit.

Its very interesting to hear a different approach to the 'my way or no way' style that most managers preach.

I came out of this with a higher opinion of Carlo Ancelotti.

So good, i listened to it twice in a row.

Captivating book, great to listen to in the morning. Not as bloated as Sir Alex's recent forays into management literature.

Surprisingly enjoyable for a non-football fan

I wasn't sure what to think about this book before I listened to it. I don't follow football or any sport, however, I found it illuminating as a text for business managers.

Excellent!

Great book for any football fan. Helps you to understand what happens to players and managers and how they make their decisions. I also think that it is a great read for leaders in any field - but to really enjoy it and take a lot from it, you probably need to have a good knowledge of football.
