Publisher's Summary

With more than a dash of glamour and serious helpings of style, the witty and courageous Phryne Fisher returns. In 1928 St Kilda’s streets hang with fairy lights. Magic shows, marionettes, tea dances, tango competitions, life-saving demonstrations, lantern shows, and picnics on the beach are all part of the Flower Parade. And who else should be chosen to be Queen of the Flowers but the gorgeous, charming and terribly fashionable Hon Phryne Fisher? Phryne needs a new dress and a swimming costume but she also needs a lot of courage to confront her problems: a missing daughter, the return of an old lover, and a young woman found drowned at the beach at Elwood.

Scintillating tale of love and crime

Another of Kerry Greenwood's delightful and sometimes scary books centring on private detective Phryne Fisher. Perhaps there were a few too many characters in this one, but all were well-drawn, with a place in the colourful world of circus and carnival in the St Kilda of 1928. Phryne is Queen of the Flowers in a version of an actual event in that year, but leading up to that is a story of broken family relationships, missing girls and some dastardly figures of crime and corruption. I enjoyed it all thoroughly, especially as read by Stephanie Daniel.

Queen of the Flowers

With wonderful poetry and a challenging time Miss Fisher without a bat of her eye lids once again solves more than one mystery with the help of her trusty helpers Bert Cess Dot and the beautiful Lee Chung plus her other favourite companions. The story delights us all who love the Jade Lady. Well done to all her creators for a story that was a pure delight to be entertained by
