Story
2012 marks the 60th anniversary of the publication of C. S. Lewis’s classic, Mere Christianity. Having sold over half a million copies in the UK alone, his overview of Christianity has been imitated many times, but never outdone. Mere Christianity brings together Lewis’s legendary broadcasts from the war years; talks in which he set out simply to ‘"explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times."

Story
The God of the universe - the Creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and E-minor - loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss. Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical, solutions? God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. Because the answer to religious complacency isn’t working harder at a list of do's and don'ts - it's falling in love with God.

The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Recognized as the greatest literary masterpiece in Arabic, it has nevertheless remained difficult to understand in its English translations.

You can believe because of the evidence, not in spite of it. For the first 35 years of his life, J. Warner Wallace was a devout atheist. After all, how can you believe a claim made about an event in the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence? Then Wallace realized something. Christianity was a lot like the cold cases he solved as a homicide detective - cold cases that turned out to have enough evidence, eyewitnesses, and records to solve.

chapter divisions
Any additional comments?
I've read many reviews that point out that it is hard to find the book or chapter you are looking for, because it is divided into 19 parts rather than 66. Here is the division by part and chapter within the part. I really like it overall now that I can easily find the book I am looking for and with some simple math, the chapter.
Part 1 – Genesis 1-50 (ch1-50), Exodus 1-40 (ch51-90)
Part 2 – Leviticus 1-27 (ch1-27), Numbers 1-36 (ch28-63)

No way to find a specific book!!!
I just bought the whole bible. The voice is clear and good. But how can one find a particular book to listen? There is simply NO WAY to do it. It wastes money to buy each book, but who would know the whole bible edition does NOT even have table of contents to let you choose a book to listen! I need a refund.

Excellent!!! Don't miss!
The NIV version of the Bible is clear, and easy to understand in modern English.
It is a great choice for listening and I was surprised to notice that with someone else reading, I remembered better and saw connections and had comprehensions of underlying themes which I had missed in reading it.
I like to listen to a few chapters a day.
Don't miss this! It will give you plenty to listen to and think about for years to come.
I have really enjoyed the narration of George W. Sarris. He has a great, easy to listen to voice and he uses it well.
He uses his inflection well, although he clearly has not tired to do a tremendously dramtic rendering. I like this approach.
Given that, he had me giggling when speaking for Balaam's donkey and several characters who were clearly drunken.
I will listen to this many times in days to come.
You will not regret this version, this voice or this purchase.

OUTSTANDING!!!
I reviewed several versions of audio Bible before choosing this one. I was certainly not disappointed! George Sarris does an excellent job delivering a crystal clear reading and I found his perfect pronunciation of the tricky names and locations in the Old Testament quite helpful! I purchased this media to assist me in my reading thru-the-Bible-in-a-year undertaking and it has been a wonderful tool. SPECIAL THANKS TO TENA, who took the time to list out the break down of the books on the multiple files - MOST HELPFUL! I copied the listing and printed it out to keep handy when I go to change books. Thanks! :)

Fine reading, Horrible for iPod
What disappointed you about NIV Audio Bible, Pure Voice?
This Bible is not organized for useful access. Cannot choose book or chapter.
Any additional comments?
A Bible should be accessible by book and chapter, not arbitrarily chopped into 19 segments with random audio chapters. This was a complete waste of not 1 but 2 credits. It is an outrageous offering.l

Well Narrated, but no titles
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The voice actor is easy to listen too.
Any additional comments?
The lack of titles on the downloads for the books within the bible (Genesis, Exodus, matthew, mark, luke, john, etc) and incorrectly divided chapters by audible does not make finding a specific section easy. Matthew and Mark might be placed into the same download, but I have no idea which download they are in, and then I have to skip through all the chapters of Matthew if I want to get to Mark. And there's no way to know if I'm on Mark without listening to the narrator.
I'm glad to have the opportunity to listen to the Bible on long drives, but the way the download was created is not very user friendly. Though once accurate titles have been added I'll be quite content with this download.

only wish for chapters
What did you love best about NIV Audio Bible, Pure Voice?
No distracting music. Good, clear, even reading. Great pace.
Any additional comments?
I only wish that it had a better way to reference chapters.

Excellent!
I like that you can download portions, hold your finger on one and see a summary of the whole Bible to know which part contains the book of the Bible you want to read. George Sarris does an excellent job of reading with passion and inflection in his voice. The reading speed is easy to adjust. This is very well done!

Listening to the Bible
I appreciate listening to the scriptures while I drive in my car or sit in my house. It is God's Word, the greatest book ever written. The reader is easy to listen to.

What the ???
What would have made NIV Audio Bible, Pure Voice better?
Being able to select the book and chapter I want to listen to.
Any additional comments?
Not being able to select a book and chapter is a horrendous issue/flaw. Audible seriously needs to work on this. Otherwise the clarity is good and the narration is at a comfortable pace.
